Faith Chronicles

A month of daily readings, written by Dr RJ Sing for his church every month from 2007 until his passing in 2024. Pastor Zubeda Sing wrote alongside him, and she continues them today. Each reading has its scripture, the teaching, a confession and the day's Bible reading plan.

In 2021 and 2022 he also wrote daily messages for believers in business and at work — the Marketplace, kept with the rest of his writing on his own site.

The Spirit’s Clear Mandate to Apostle Paul

Pastor Zubeda Sing

“But when God, who had chosen me and set me apart before I was born, and called me through His grace, was pleased to reveal His Son in me so that I might preach Him among the Gentiles [as the good news—the way of salvation], I did not immediately consult with anyone [for guidance regarding God’s call and His revelation to me]. Nor did I [even] go up to Jerusalem to those who were apostles before me; but I went to Arabia and stayed awhile, and afterward returned once more to Damascus” Gal 1 v15-17

The Call to the Brother of John - James

“Going on a little farther, He saw James the son of Zebedee, and his brother John, who were also in the boat mending and cleaning the nets. Immediately Jesus called to them; and they left their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired workers, and went away to follow Him [becoming His disciples, believing and trusting in Him and following His example].” Mark 1v19-20

James was the brother of John, they were known as the sons of Thunder. James was one of the three that were in Jesus’s inner circle. They were privy to Jesus’s life and t…

    The Call to John

Immediately Jesus called to them; and they left their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired workers, and went away to follow Him [becoming His disciples, believing and trusting in Him and following His example].” Mark 1v19-20

The book of John provides a treasure trove of Jesus’ stories and teachings not found in the other Gospels. It is also the simplest and most profound of the Gospels. Rich …

    The Calling of Matthew

“As Jesus went on from there, He saw a man named Matthew (Levi) sitting in the tax collector’s booth; and He said to him, “Follow Me [as My disciple, accepting Me as your Master and Teacher and walking the same path of life that I walk].” And Matthew got up and followed Him.” Matthew 9v9-10

Jesus’ earthly genealogy demonstrates God’s plan to bring about the salvation of humanity. Matthew shows us how, every step along the way, God had protected the bloodline…

    God Tests the Heart

“I know also, my God, that You test the heart and delight in uprightness and integrity. In the uprightness of my heart I have willingly offered all these things. So now with joy I have seen Your people who are present here, make their offerings willingly and freely to You.” 1 Chronicles 29v17

This is a scripture from the Old Testament so it was for people who were living by the law. They had to live by the 10 commandments or however many commandments there wer…

    Evil Thoughts

“But whatever [word] comes out of the mouth comes from the heart, and this is what defiles and dishonors the man. For out of the heart come evil thoughts and plans, murders, adulteries, sexual immoralities, thefts, false testimonies, slanders (verbal abuse, irreverent speech, blaspheming).” Matthew 15v18-19

When we come to the altar of Salvation, every one of us has an un-pure heart full of evil. Perhaps most of us do not have the thoughts of murder etc. however there are ot…

    The Issues of Life

“Watch over your heart with all diligence, For from it flow the springs of life. Put away from you a deceitful (lying, misleading) mouth, And put devious lips far from you.” Proverbs 4v23-24

The unregenerated heart of a man is deceitful above all things. A heart that is not re-calibrated by the design of God is full of hate, jealousy, envy, strife and everyth…

This command given by Jesus was given in the old testament to the chosen people of God. We who are now living in the dispensation of grace must love God but we have come …

    A Lying Tongue

“A proud look [the attitude that makes one overestimate oneself and discount others], a lying tongue, And hands that shed innocent blood” Prov 6v17

God hates pride. It is something that he hates the most. Yet in this scripture the pride is coupled with a lying tongue. If we draw an inference from this connection, we …

    Encourage Yourself in the Lord

“Now David was greatly distressed, for the people spoke of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and his daughters. But David strengthened himself in the LORD his God” 1 Sam 30v6

The group of men who formed the army of David had now turned against him as their tent had been broken into and their wives and children taken, whilst they were out fight…

    God is Mindful

“But one has [solemnly] testified somewhere [in Scripture], saying, "WHAT IS MAN, THAT YOU ARE MINDFUL OF HIM, OR THE SON OF MAN, THAT YOU GRACIOUSLY CARE FOR HIM?” Heb 2v6

What a question, what is man that God is mindful of him or the son of man that you graciously care for him. Can you believe this, our God is mindful of us. He knows every…

    Do Not Judge Others

“Do not judge and criticize and condemn [others unfairly with an attitude of self-righteous superiority as though assuming the office of a judge], so that you will not be judged [unfairly]. For just as you [hypocritically] judge others [when you are sinful and unrepentant], so will you be judged; and in accordance with your standard of measure [used to pass out judgment], judgment will be measured to you” Mat 7v1-2

Jesus spoke plainly in the book of Matthew, saying we should not judge others. I like the way the amplified bible puts it “Do not judge or criticize or condemn others.” W…
