The Call to John
Pastor Zubeda Sing · 1 min read

“Going on a little farther, He saw James the son of Zebedee, and his brother John, who were also in the boat mending and cleaning the nets. Immediately Jesus called to them; and they left their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired workers, and went away to follow Him [becoming His disciples, believing and trusting in Him and following His example].”
The book of John provides a treasure trove of Jesus’ stories and teachings not found in the other Gospels. It is also the simplest and most profound of the Gospels. Rich in insight and application, this book is the greatest evangelistic tool ever written. John was the disciple whom Jesus loved. He understood the call to evangelism very much. He had a great understanding of Jesus as he had developed a very warm friendship with him. John is the disciple who teaches us about the love of God. He was clear on how we should develop our love walk.
We who are commissioned to go out and win the lost, should take the time to read this gospel of John and then the epistles of John so we can see how love makes us very effective in soul winning. John may not give us clear ideas on our authority but he sure tells us how to live in Christ and to let the love of God manifest in our lives as a tool for evangelism.
Walk in love and show the world the love of Christ so we can win them for the kingdom of God.
