Relationships with others and to Work in the House of God
The partnership letter for November 2008
Greetings to you in Jesus Name. I want to express my gratitude and love to each one of you as my Partners in the Ministry. As much as you think that I am a blessing to you, I certainly know that you are a blessing to me. I love you all very much and thank you for your love, support and commitment.
This month I would like to address you on the issue of *‘Relationships with others and to Work in the House of God’*.
“Who [is] as the wise [man]? and who knoweth the interpretation of a thing? a man's wisdom maketh his face to shine, and the boldness of his face shall be changed. I [counsel thee] to keep the king's commandment, and [that] in regard of the oath of God. Be not hasty to go out of his sight: stand not in an evil thing; for he doeth whatsoever pleaseth him. Where the word of a king [is, there is] power: and who may say unto him, What doest thou? Whoso keepeth the commandment shall feel no evil thing: and a wise man's heart discerneth both time and judgment. Because to every purpose there is time and judgment, therefore the misery of man [is] great upon him. For he knoweth not that which shall be: for who can tell him when it shall be? [There is] no man that hath power over the spirit to retain the spirit; neither [hath he] power in the day of death: and [there is] no discharge in [that] war; neither shall wickedness deliver those that are given to it. All this have I seen, and applied my heart unto every work that is done under the sun: [there is] a time wherein one man ruleth over another to his own hurt.”
Solomon reminds us of our relationship to leaders above us. We are to submit to them, not because the person deserves it, but because the office deserves it and God decrees it. What about leaders in authority? Solomon also issues a warning, when leaders try to exercise authority, without a servant’s heart, they eventually hurt themselves. Consider what he says:
Let us first consider the role of the follower:
- A disciple is a disciplined one in the things of God.
- A follower and a disciple trust God to accomplish his/her purpose.
- Followers and disciples make up their mind not to quit or become divisive, but push on in the things of God.
Now, let us consider the role of a leader:
- A person in leadership exercises authority with wisdom and caution.
- A leader acknowledges that God is always in control, regarding his treatment and promotion.
- A Godly leader leads others by serving others and does not resort to bossing them.
In conclusion, let us give consideration as to how both leaders and followers (disciples) need to work in the house of God.
- We are to work joyfully since our approval comes from God.
- You are to work energetically in the house of God even if the results seem uncertain.
- You are to work wisely in the House of God, with the benefit of the Kingdom of God.
Therefore, I trust that the above points will help you. Remember that you are a success and the Favor of God is on you. I declare God’s favor on your life and you are blessed and empowered to prosper.
Pastor Zubeda and I pray for you daily and rejoice to see the blessings of God on your life. I see you growing in your commitment to God’s house. I see you loyal and steadfast in Jesus name. May God continue to richly bless you and your family.
With Love,PASTORS ROSHAN & ZUBEDA SING
