The Word of God – Power to Create Faith and Eternal Life

“So then faith [cometh] by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
The Word of God is better rendered as “the Word of Christ.” It is not faith in what is heard, but faith that comes about by what is heard. That is what Paul meant when he said the Gospel “Is the Power of God unto Salvation.” Saving faith is not man doing his part in response to God having done His part. Saving faith can only come through the Gospel. Salvation is God’s work alone. This also shows that there is no other way to be saved but by the explicit Gospel of Christ.
So, as you hear the Word of God, your faith grows. Eternal life becomes a reality as the Word of God gains entrance into your heart. Every born again Christian has faith.
“For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think [of himself] more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.”
And we also know that faith is a spirit. *“We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore Speak.” 2 Corinthians 4:13. So then, remember that faith comes by hearing and hearing the Word of God. God’s Word creates faith in your spirit and adds to the faith you already have. The Word produces Power in the life of a Christian. As you feed on God’s Word, you will be strengthened with might in your inner man
