God Tests the Heart

“I know also, my God, that You test the heart and delight in uprightness and integrity. In the uprightness of my heart I have willingly offered all these things. So now with joy I have seen Your people who are present here, make their offerings willingly and freely to You.”
This is a scripture from the Old Testament so it was for people who were living by the law. They had to live by the 10 commandments or however many commandments there were.
They were in a position where God tested their hearts and even in their giving, they were restricted to the tithe which was 10 percent.
In this new covenant, our hearts are renewed by the Holy Spirit and when God sees us He sees us by the blood of Jesus so we are free and we are clean before him. In our giving, ten percent is the starting point, we give over and above this. Jesus gave his all so we too need to be able to give our all, in our time, in our money, in our love. Are we saying your whole wages? No. A grateful heart gives from their heart and gives joyfully as they are thankful for what God has done. In the above scripture, these people under the law gave willingly and freely in their offering unto the Lord. We need not feel pressure but a nudging from the Holy Spirit to give from every income we receive at all times. We are intentional in our giving, we set aside the portion we reserve for God, not out of compulsion but from a heart of love and gratitude.
A thriver is a bonafide cheerful giver at all times. A thriver has a storehouse that has a reserved portion for God. They take care of God’s house before a thought is given for their own house. God always makes sure that the evidence of the Thriver’s giving is shown in how God takes care of them.
