Covenant Thinking

Pastor Zubeda Sing · 2 min read

“Be mindful of His covenant forever, The promise which He commanded and established to a thousand generations,”
1Chronicles 16v15

Jesus said this in the gospels, a new covenant I have given unto you, that you would love one another as I have loved you, by this shall all men know that you are my disciples. This is a covenant of love. The one spoken about in 1Chronicles is the covenant of the law, where each Jewish person was expected to keep the law. He asked that they keep His laws in their heart so they did not sin against him. He desired that they have his covenant in their hearts. Actually, our heavenly Father says, He lifts up His word above his name. That is something amazing. God is a person who values his word. His yes is yes and his no is no. Every thing is as he has spoken and promised. David says in Psalms, keep thy word in my heart that I might not sin against you. David was persuaded that God kept promises. Abraham was persuaded that God was a promise keeper and would do what he had promised. Peter too was persuaded in God, so was Paul, they were just convinced that God would never lie. He would do what he said he would do.

We have the covenant of love that has been shed abroad our hearts. We do not only have his word in the Logos (as in the written word) but we have a revelation of the word for each day. This revelation is called Rhema (the spirit word revealed in our hearts). So be mindful of the word of God which is the covenant of love in our hearts. This love changes our thinking daily and we can never be the same again.

The thriver, thrives on this love of God because this love feeds his faith and makes his faith more potent.
