The Power of Praise
The partnership letter for May 2013
Greetings to all my precious Partners in Christ Jesus our Lord. This month I would like to share with you along the lines of ‘The Power of Praise’.
Jesus heals a few leapers. In Luke 17:11-19 “And it came to pass, as he went to Jerusalem, that he passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee. 12 And as he entered into a certain village, there met him ten men that were lepers, which stood afar off:13 And they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us. 14 And when he saw them, he said unto them, Go shew yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed. 15 And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God, 16 And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan. 17 And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine? 18 There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger. 19 And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole.”
One of the biggest problems many of us face is praising the Lord openly. We have to overcome our natural inhibitions. We cannot allow embarrassment to stop us. There is so much discouragement in this world. This causes us to be quick to complain and slow to give praise to God.
When we are afflicted with sickness, fear, burdens and depression, we must begin to Praise God. One of the most sobering facts of life is that we have enemies. People who criticize us find fault with us and seek to demoralize us. We should turn to the Lord, in an overflow of thanksgiving and praise. The spirit of praise will revive your disturbed heart.
God will bless us after we praise the Lord: We are not to praise only when things are well. We are to praise the Lord at all times. There is tremendous power in praise. Prayer asks. Praise takes or obtains the answer.
In Psalm 100:4-5 “4 Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.5 For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.”
(Praise the Lord Ten times) Begin to practice Praise Power. Praising God has power to lift your spirit, loose you from your bondages and give you victory in every situation.
In Philippians 4:4 “Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice.”
“18 In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.”
God expects us to Praise Him.
Hebrews 13:15 “15 By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name..” and 1 Thessalonians 5:18 “18 In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.”
So many are asking God for things. But so many are slow in thanksgiving and Praise. I see a bunch of Praisers in the house of God. I see a bunch of worshippers in the house of God.
Psalm 95:1-2 “1 O come, let us sing unto the Lord: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation.2 Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms.” Psalm 32:11 “11 Be glad in the Lord, and rejoice, ye righteous: and shout for joy, all ye that are upright in heart.”
1 Thessalonians 5:16 “Rejoice evermore.” Psalm 150:6 “Let everything that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord.”
Psalm 92:1 “It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord, and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High:” 1 Peter 2:9 “But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:”
Praise power will heal you. Praise power will break the bonds of poverty. Begin to rebuke the devil in your life. Then, Praise God for your Victory. After you praise, you will begin to increase.
Praise Him for the Answers. Praise Him for your unsaved loved ones. Acts 16:31 “And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.” Begin to praise Him for financial victories. Begin to praise Him for your healing. Begin to praise Him for power.
2 Timothy 1:7 “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” Begin to praise Him for your deliverance. Begin to practice praise power. Break every chain in the Mighty Name of Jesus Christ.
5 Reasons for lifting your hands in praise. Lifting hands is a scriptural way of expressing thanks to God. In Psalms 63:3-4 “3 Because thy loving kindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee. 4 Thus will I bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in thy name.” Lifting your hands is an appropriate way to worship God in the sanctuary. In Psalm 134:2 “Lift up your hands in the sanctuary, and bless the Lord.” It is God’s Will that we worship this way. God’s order in worship is life, liberty and the lifting up of hands.
1 Timothy 2:8 “8 I will therefore that men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.” Lifting your hands is a symbolic way to expressing worship.
“2 Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.”
Lifting your hands is a way of experiencing spiritual thirsting. Psalm 143:6 “6 I stretch forth my hands unto thee: my soul thirsteth after thee, as a thirsty land. Selah.” Romans 8:31 “31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?”
May God continue to richly bless you and your family. I pray for you daily and take pleasure in seeing you enjoy God’s blessings.
We Love you very much, Dr. Roshan and Pastor Zubeda Sing.
