Faith Chronicles

A month of daily readings, written by Dr RJ Sing for his church every month from 2007 until his passing in 2024. Pastor Zubeda Sing wrote alongside him, and she continues them today. Each reading has its scripture, the teaching, a confession and the day's Bible reading plan.

In 2021 and 2022 he also wrote daily messages for believers in business and at work — the Marketplace, kept with the rest of his writing on his own site.

A Fruitful Tree

Pastor Zubeda Sing

“For he will be [nourished] like a tree planted by the waters, That spreads out its roots by the river; And will not fear the heat when it comes; But its leaves will be green and moist. And it will not be anxious and concerned in a year of drought Nor stop bearing fruit” Jeremiah 17v8

    Study the Word

“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” 2Timothy 2v15

Paul, in giving instruction to the young man, Timothy who was being appointed as a leader over the church in Corinth, asked of him that he make a study of the word of God…

    The Living Word

“He answered, “The Scriptures say: Bread alone will not satisfy, but true life is found in every word, which constantly goes forth from God’s mouth.”” Matthew 4v4

The word in the pages of the bible are words written by men inspired by God. The word in your heart has the ability to become the living word proceeding from the heart of…

    Rejoicing in Jesus Culture

“Celebrate God all day, every day. I mean, revel in him! Make it as clear as you can to all you meet that you’re on their side, working with them and not against them. Help them see that the Master is about to arrive. He could show up any minute! Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life” Philippians 4v4-7

The culture of joy. Remaining joyful every day of your life and giving thanks unto God who is the author and finisher of your faith. Does this mean, you will be happy and…

    Igniting Faith in Others

“As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he saith unto the ruler of the synagogue, Be not afraid, only believe.” Mark 5v36

Jesus was walking with the ruler of the synagogue at this time, with crowds following. He was on his way to the house to heal this man’s daughter who was gravely ill. On …

Seeing with the Eyes of Faith

“I have made you the father of many nations.” He is our example and father, for in God’s presence he believed that God can raise the dead and call into being things that don’t even exist yet. Against all odds, when it looked hopeless, Abraham believed the promise and expected God to fulfill it. He took God at his word, and as a result he became the father of many nations” Romans 4v17-18

The world around seems bleak and chaotic. It seems to be hard at this point to have faith for anything. In fact some feel lost and hopeless as things they were believing …

Being All Things to All Men

“To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some. And this I do for the gospel's sake, that I might be partaker thereof with you” 1Cor 9v22-23

Our world is made up of relationships. We interact with many kinds of people throughout our day and through out our lives. It would be safe to say then that we should be …

    Turning the Other Cheek

“But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also. And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloke also. And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain. Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away.” Matthew 5v39-42

Forgiveness, what a precious gift to give to someone. It is one of the greatest decisions you can make for yourself. If you choose to forgive, you leave the door open for…

    Refuse to Judge

“Do not judge and criticize and condemn [others unfairly with an attitude of self-righteous superiority as though assuming the office of a judge], so that you will not be judged [unfairly]. For just as you [hypocritically] judge others [when you are sinful and unrepentant], so will you be judged; and in accordance with your standard of measure [used to pass out judgment], judgment will be measured to you.” Matthew 7v1-2

Judgement and criticism are blessing blockers. They also cause strain in relationships. Is it worth being a judgemental person? No. Being Judgemental is saying you are be…

    Creating the Culture of Peace

“Blessed [spiritually calm with life-joy in God’s favor] are the makers and maintainers of peace, for they will [express His character and] be called the sons of God.” Matthew 5v9

Peace is a freedom from disturbance; tranquility. What a state of being that is. A place where we are free from anxiety and worry. Peace is a place of rest in God. We nee…

    The Comforter Culture

“All praise to the God and Father of our Master, Jesus the Messiah! Father of all mercy! God of all healing counsel! He comes alongside us when we go through hard times, and before you know it, he brings us alongside someone else who is going through hard times so that we can be there for that person just as God was there for us. We have plenty of hard times that come from following the Messiah, but no more so than the good times of his healing comfort—we get a full measure of that, too.” 2Corinthians 1v2-3

When we are born again, we receive the Holy Spirit who is our comforter, our teacher, our leader and our guide. He is a counsellor and standby when we need him. He teache…

    Love Culture in Action

“If I speak with human eloquence and angelic ecstasy but don’t love, I’m nothing but the creaking of a rusty gate. If I speak God’s Word with power, revealing all his mysteries and making everything plain as day, and if I have faith that says to a mountain, “Jump,” and it jumps, but I don’t love, I’m nothing. If I give everything I own to the poor and even go to the stake to be burned as a martyr, but I don’t love, I’ve gotten nowhere. So, no matter what I say, what I believe, and what I do, I’m bankrupt without love. Love never gives up. Love cares more for others than for self. Love doesn’t want what it doesn’t have. Love doesn’t strut, Doesn’t have a swelled head, Doesn’t force itself on others, Isn’t always “me first,” Doesn’t fly off the handle, Doesn’t keep score of the sins of others, Doesn’t revel when others grovel, Takes pleasure in the flowering of truth, Puts up with anything, Trusts God always, Always looks for the best, Never looks back, But keeps going to the end” 1 Corinthians 13v1-7

The above scripture on love gives us a clear indication of how we should live as a follower of Christ. Love has been shed abroad our hearts by the holy Spirit so we need …

    Be the Change

“And when there had been much disputing, Peter rose up, and said unto them, Men and brethren, ye know how that a good while ago God made choice among us, that the Gentiles by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel, and believe. And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us; And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.” Acts 15v7-9

The gospel was being preached to the gentiles. The Jews were in covenant with God so there were rules and regulations they had to follow through the law. The gentiles rec…
