Creating the Culture of Peace

“Blessed [spiritually calm with life-joy in God’s favor] are the makers and maintainers of peace, for they will [express His character and] be called the sons of God.”
Peace is a freedom from disturbance; tranquility. What a state of being that is. A place where we are free from anxiety and worry. Peace is a place of rest in God. We need to place a premium on our peace. We need to guard our peace so it is not stolen from us by unexpected events or challenges. God has called us to peace. Jesus says he came to give us peace, his peace, not as the world gives it. Imagine that, his peace, nothing missing and nothing broken. In communing with God, you will find that peace becomes a place in your heart and mind. You get so accustomed to this state of being peaceful, you will not allow anything to disturb your peace. Anything that steals your peace, is too expensive to you. Peace adds to your health and also brings happiness to your relationships.
In this way, we develop a culture of peace. A culture of being peaceful. Where ever we go, we take peace with us. We find we do not like encounters that cause division and discord. As we grow in our walk with the Holy Spirit, he teaches us, how to watch our words when speaking to others. In this way, we prevent arguments and learn to step back even if we are right, we allow the other person to have their say, to prevent the discord. Later when it is more, convenient we are able to discuss the matter with ease and peace.
Peace is a fruit of the spirit, that brings a harvest in to our lives, all year round. When we are peaceful, we are pleasure to be around. Let your culture of peace influence your environment. Go on, be a peace maker.
