The Five Confessions: What the Blood of Jesus Already Settled
Pastor Wesley Sing, 28 December 2025, 127 min
Sermon outline
The Passover lamb pointed to the blood of Jesus, which redeems, forgives, cleanses, justifies and sanctifies, so believers going into the new year confess what the blood has done, plead it over their households and stop living with one foot in the world.

Opening
He prays that the Word would be a light in the darkness and that every hedge would be sealed so the devil has no legal right in their lives. He says this message branches from his Christmas Day word on the revelation of the cross and sets the church up for 2026, which will not be the same old, same old. He reads that the good shepherd lays down His life for the sheep and that we fear no evil in the valley of the shadow of death, and announces the confessions of the blood, to be applied every day.
No man could pay the price, so one man paid it for all
The blood is not separate from your salvation but a key part of it. God asked Israel whether His arm was too short to ransom them, and Isaiah said all we like sheep have gone astray and the Lord laid on Him the iniquity of us all. Job asked how a mortal could be righteous before God, and the psalmist said the ransom for a life is too costly for any man to pay. As the curse came through one man, God required one man, Jesus, to break it, so those who receive grace and the gift of righteousness reign in life.
“Our human nature will always have the question, but our godly nature will always bring us back to the word.”

- Isaiah 53:6
- Job 7:21
- Psalm 49:7-8
- Romans 5:17-19
You cannot be of two opinions or live two lifestyles
We can only be of one opinion: I am justified by the blood of the Lamb, and not judged by the mistakes of the past. Nor can we live half our life in the world and half in the church, serving God half-heartedly and expecting the blessing wholeheartedly. There must be a distinction, so that people sense the presence of the Lord when you walk into a room.
Illustration: Two people who met at a house party or the movies and dislike the church still want a pastor the minute they want to marry, and want their child christened. That is a double standard.
“I cannot serve God half-heartedly and expect wholeheartedly the blessing of the Lord.”
The Passover: the blood on the doorpost
At the Passover God told Israel that this month would be the first of their year, a change of identity after more than four hundred years in Egypt under the same curse as the Egyptians. The spirit of death was told to pass over every house with the blood of the lamb on its doorframe, and nobody was to go out until morning, so where you go matters if you want to stay under the protection. Pharaoh's position did not protect his firstborn; only the blood did. Just as the Passover divided Israel's history, the cross divided the world's history into before and after Christ.
“The only control that the enemy has over you is the control that you give him.”
- Exodus 12:2
- Exodus 12:21-23
- Malachi 3:11
- Psalm 91:1
Men, plead the blood over your household
The father of the family applied the blood to the doorframe. A husband has spiritual authority over his house, not to manipulate, abuse or curse, but to make sure the household carries God's vision, and where there is no husband the mother carries that voice. Every morning, whether or not you are fighting with your wife, plead the blood over each member of the household from the roots of their hair to the soles of their feet. Disbelief is the playground of the enemy.
“You have a responsibility to plead the blood of the lamb over your family each and every day.”
1. Through the blood of Jesus I have been redeemed from the power of the enemy
In Him we have redemption through the blood, which freed us from the dominion of Satan, so we are no longer victims but victors. They overcame by the blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony, and there is no testimony without a test. Plead, declare, rebuke and take authority through the blood, and then tell people your testimony so they can trust God through their own test.
“We have no testimony if there wasn't a test.”
- Ephesians 1:7
- Revelation 12:3
- Revelation 12:11
2. Through the blood of Jesus all my sins have been forgiven
We are forgiven by grace, not by a price we paid. Repentance is getting out of your own way: give the smoking, the drinking or the pornography to the Lord rather than beating yourself up, because there is no purgatory. One of the enemy's strategies is to make us believe some of our sins are not yet forgiven. Do not cover up your iniquity or excuse it; confess it, and He is faithful and just to forgive. Paul did the things he did not want to do, cried out "wretched man that I am", and in the same breath gave thanks through Jesus Christ, and then wrote that there is no condemnation for those in Christ.
Illustration: At a family gathering the whisky comes out over a heated game of cards, and the words fly out before you can catch them. That is the struggle Paul describes.
“One of the enemy's strategies is to make us believe that some of our sins have not yet been forgiven. That is a lie of the devil.”
- Psalm 32:5
- Psalm 51:7
- 1 John 1:9
- Romans 7:15
- Romans 7:24-25
- Romans 8:1
3. The blood of Jesus cleanses me now and continually from all sin
Fellowship with other believers is not imposed but necessary, so be in a cell and function within the church. The only perfect church is one with no people in it. Like a family with the loud uncle and the auntie with an opinion on everyone, the household of faith is still a family, and what binds it is the blood of the Lamb. If we walk in the light as He is in the light we have fellowship and the blood keeps cleansing us, and we love the unlovable as well as the lovable. Our navigation is in the Word, not on YouTube or TikTok. Where brothers dwell in unity, the anointing runs down from the head and there the Lord commands the blessing.
“We may not be blood, but let me tell you, the thing that binds us together is the blood of the Lamb.”
- 1 John 1:7
- Psalm 119:105
- Matthew 4:16-17
- Psalm 133:1-3
4. Through the blood of Jesus I have been justified, and God sees me as if I had never sinned
Having been justified by His blood, we are saved by His life. God made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us so that we might become the righteousness of God: the great exchange. Confessing what the blood has done rebukes the accusing spirits of guilt and condemnation, and because you are already forgiven it becomes easy to say sorry, make amends and walk free.
“Jesus took all of the bad that we were, and in exchange, He gave us all the good that He is.”
- Romans 5:9-10
- 2 Corinthians 5:21
5. Through the blood of Jesus I am sanctified, set apart for God
Jesus suffered outside the city gate to make the people holy through His own blood, and holy means the absence of evil. The enemy's counterfeit always demands blood, in witchcraft, the sangoma and every ritual, but Christ's blood was one price for all. You cannot sit in church and go to the witch doctor, the tarot cards or the signs, and whatever was done to you as a child you now have authority to break. You were bought with a price, so your body and your family are holy: a man cannot hit his wife, nor a woman her husband, and parents are stewards of children who must be trained in the way they should go. God is not done with you yet.
“Today is the beginning of your new story because Christ paid the price.”
- Hebrews 13:12
- 1 Corinthians 6:19-20
- Proverbs 22:6
- Matthew 6:33
Putting it into practice
- Say the five confessions every day; they will be sent to the church
- Plead the blood over every member of your household each morning
- Be part of a cell and the life of the church rather than living a private faith
- Remove any involvement with witchcraft, fortune-telling or charms, and break what was done to you before you were saved
- Start a daily devotional in the Word rather than taking your word for the day from social media
Closing
He has the church stand and tell each other they are His holy temple, then leads all five confessions together. He binds every demonic force, pleads the blood over the church and declares new thinking, prodigal children coming home, addictions broken and restoration of what was stolen, then closes with the grace and Psalm 23 and announces the New Year's Eve service, with other regions joining online.
Declarations to say aloud
- Reign in life.
- I'm justified.
- Father, in the name of Jesus, as I come to you this morning, I plead the blood over my wife. I plead the blood over my son. I plead the blood over my daughter. I plead the blood over whoever else is inside of the household. From the roots of their head to the soles of their feet, I plead the blood of Jesus over them. And Lord, we are redeemed. We are made righteous by your precious blood.
- Through the blood of Jesus, I have been redeemed from the power of the enemy.
- Through the blood of Jesus, all my sins have been forgiven.
- Because I walk in the light and I have fellowship with my brothers and sisters, the blood of Jesus cleanses me now and continually from all sin.
- Through the blood of Jesus, I've been justified, and God sees me as if I've never sinned.
- Through the blood of Jesus, I am sanctified, set apart for God.
- You are his holy temple.
- God is with you. God is for you, not against you.
