Igniting Faith in Others
Pastor Zubeda Sing · 3 min read

“As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he saith unto the ruler of the synagogue, Be not afraid, only believe.”
Jesus was walking with the ruler of the synagogue at this time, with crowds following. He was on his way to the house to heal this man’s daughter who was gravely ill. On his way, he met the woman with the issue of blood, who had been suffering for 12 years. Jesus had just healed her and was about to turn around and follow the ruler when men from his household came to tell him not to worry Jesus anymore as his daughter was now dead. Jesus heard this and his words were “be not afraid, only believe.”
You might say, this is impossible, how can he believe when his daughter was now dead. He had Jesus, Jesus was enough. Jesus could bring death to life. He was the creator of the universe. He was the word in action. In the beginning of creation, God spoke the word and the world came into being, how much more now when a child lay dead. Could the creator of life not speak life into this child. Yes, he could and he did. He first spoke to the man and instilled faith in to his heart. He said something that restored the man’s faith. He said “do not be afraid”. Fear was trying to steal his faith. He was at his lowest point in his life and the devil thought that he would keep him down by destroying his faith and hope. Jesus was the answer. He was the rescuer of the man’s faith. He spoke words of encouragement to the man and then took action. Jesus spoke a word and the child was healed and brought back to life. He believed Jesus and got the results.
Family of God, daily there will be opportunities for you, like the example given above, to reach out and touch someone. It is vital that you keep your faith on a high daily so you have enough to encourage others. Do not court fear yourself, so when the need to encourage others comes, you impart faith and not fear. Faith can move a mountain, speak faith to those you meet so you build their faith and help move their mountains, so together we can do great and mighty things. Be an encourager and a faith builder. See the mountains moving and the person you are encouraging, walking to the other side on dry ground. Thank you for your help in building the faith of others.
