Faith Chronicles

A month of daily readings, written by Dr RJ Sing for his church every month from 2007 until his passing in 2024. Pastor Zubeda Sing wrote alongside him, and she continues them today. Each reading has its scripture, the teaching, a confession and the day's Bible reading plan.

In 2021 and 2022 he also wrote daily messages for believers in business and at work — the Marketplace, kept with the rest of his writing on his own site.

The Spirit’s Clear Mandate to Apostle Paul

Pastor Zubeda Sing

“But when God, who had chosen me and set me apart before I was born, and called me through His grace, was pleased to reveal His Son in me so that I might preach Him among the Gentiles [as the good news—the way of salvation], I did not immediately consult with anyone [for guidance regarding God’s call and His revelation to me]. Nor did I [even] go up to Jerusalem to those who were apostles before me; but I went to Arabia and stayed awhile, and afterward returned once more to Damascus” Gal 1 v15-17

    Understanding your Priestly Duties

“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. Do not quench the Spirit. Do not despise prophecies. Test all things; hold fast what is good. Abstain from every form of evil” 1 Thes. 5v16-21

Paul was an apostle who went from city to city, teaching and enabling the churches the word of God and establishing them in the way of the kingdom. He taught the principl…

    The Blessing of Empowerment

“and so we sent Timothy, our brother and God’s servant in [spreading] the good news of Christ, to strengthen and encourage you [exhorting, comforting, and establishing you] in regard to your faith, so that no one would be unsettled by these difficulties [to which I have referred]” 1 Thes.3v2

Timothy was a son raised by Paul, in the ministry. He was a partaker of the grace on Paul’s life. As a young man he was trained by Paul to be effective in the ministry. H…

    Grace to Unlock Doors

“While they were serving the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Set apart for Me Barnabas and Saul (Paul) for the work to which I have called them.” Then after fasting and praying, they laid their hands on them [in approval and dedication] and sent them away [on their first journey]” Acts 13v2

The door for ministry was opened to the gentiles. The church now needed men who would go out and minister to the new believers and also win the gentiles to Christ. The do…

    Knowing your Calling

“Do not neglect the spiritual gift within you, [that special endowment] which was intentionally bestowed on you [by the Holy Spirit] through prophetic utterance when the elders laid their hands on you [at your ordination]. Practice and work hard on these things; be absorbed in them [completely occupied in your ministry], so that your progress will be evident to all. Pay close attention to yourself [concentrate on your personal development] and to your teaching; persevere in these things [hold to them], for as you do this you will ensure salvation both for yourself and for those who hear you” 1Timothy 4v14

Paul had laid his hands on Timothy and now he was asking him not to neglect the gift that was given to him. Timothy was a skilled leader who ministered to the people of G…

    Season of Receiving

“In everything I showed you [by example] that by working hard in this way you must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He Himself said, ‘It is more blessed [and brings greater joy] to give than to receive.’” Acts 20v35

As much as it is more blessed to give, and giving you must, it is just as important to learn how to receive. Many of us know how to give and we are very good at it, howev…

“Now such people we command and exhort in the Lord Jesus Christ to settle down and work quietly and earn their own food and other necessities [supporting themselves instead of depending on the hospitality of others].” 2 Thessalonians 3v12

Sometimes the most skillful use of the tongue is keeping it still. Definitely keeping out of others business is a great idea. Learn the language of silence. Develop the a…

    The Blessing to Encourage

“Now Joseph, a Levite and native of Cyprus, who was surnamed Barnabas by the apostles (which translated means Son of Encouragement), sold a field belonging to him and brought the money and set it at the apostles’ feet.” Acts 4v36

Barnabas was not an apostle, just a man called by God to walk alongside the disciples and be an encourager. When Paul was saved, the apostles and disciples would not acce…

Thankful for the House of God

“He began to teach and say to them, “Is it not written, ‘MY HOUSE SHALL BE CALLED A HOUSE OF PRAYER FOR ALL THE NATIONS’? But you have made it a ROBBERS’ DEN.” The chief priests and the scribes heard this and began searching for a way to destroy Him; for they were afraid of Him, since the entire crowd was struck with astonishment at His teaching.” Mark 11v17

Thank you, Father for your church, thank you for this house of God you have called me to. It is a joy to be found in your house and to hear your word. Your word builds my…
