Understanding your Priestly Duties

Pastor Zubeda Sing · 2 min read

“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. Do not quench the Spirit. Do not despise prophecies. Test all things; hold fast what is good. Abstain from every form of evil”
1 Thes. 5v16-21

Paul was an apostle who went from city to city, teaching and enabling the churches the word of God and establishing them in the way of the kingdom. He taught the principles and doctrines that were needed to build strong believers. He knew what his calling and purpose was, so he continuously went from place to place to build the church and the believers. He was a man who prayed much.

We are sons and daughters of the Most High God. We too have a mission and a calling. The foremost mission is our prayer life. As a priest, whether male or female, the role of priest is our first priority everyday of our lives. We need to prioritize our prayer life into our day. We need to present ourselves to God on a daily basis and have fellowship with him so he can instruct us on how to live life successfully for the day. It is a joy to go to the father every day, whether morning or night and present ourselves to him as a priest first. We offer sacrifices of praise and thanksgiving. We offer unto God, the first fruits of our day. At first it is awkward and a little daunting but you have to keep at it, and slowly, this time given to God becomes comfortable and a necessity in your life. You feel as if you are not clothed if you do not pray.

I challenge you today, make time for God as part of your priestly duties and as you fulfill your priestly duties, God will equip you to be a successful king in the market place. You are a king and a priest unto God.
