Understanding your Kingly Duties
Pastor Zubeda Sing · 2 min read

“Stay calm; mind your own business; do your own job. You’ve heard all this from us before, but a reminder never hurts. We want you living in a way that will command the respect of outsiders, not lying around sponging off your friends”
Having done all, to stand. Gird yourself with truth and integrity in the market place where you operate as a king after having fulfilled your duty as a priest. Living this God life, requires intelligent and intentional decisions. As you meditate on the word of God daily, your way becomes prosperous and your Godly choices, opens doors to you that no man can close.
The word is so clear, stay calm. We all know that in the midst of chaos or a challenge, the last thing we want to be is calm, but it is in the calmness that God works best. It is his peace that floods our hearts and causes us to be creative in our thinking and responding.
The next secret is minding your own business. Well, we are bombarded with social media and the news, we hear stuff that just clutters our minds and gets us thinking of things that are so out of line with our calling that we get distracted. This is exactly where the enemy wants us to be. In the midst of distraction, we fail to gain the advantage, or take advantage of opportunities that God is presenting to us. In this way we feel like we have failed and get discouraged. A king needs to be mindful of the things of the kingdom.
Peter puts it nicely, he says, be on your guard, the enemy goes about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he “may” devour. You are not his prey, you are not his victim. You are a victor in this life. Put on your Priestly garments of praise and the armour of God, so you can withstand the enemy in the evil day and win successfully in this life, each and every day.
