Maintaining My Cool in Parenting

“And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour”
There is nothing more trying in one’s life than a rebellious child. We all go through it or have gone through it. There is a way that we want them to be, but against all odds the enemy will allow our children to try our patience. I trust this declaration will help you.
Walking in love is not a feeling we wait for. It is an offering we bring. Christ gave Himself for us, and Paul calls it a sweet smelling savour. There is a fragrance that comes off a parent who stays kind when there is every reason not to.
Losing our temper is not a fruit of the Spirit, and no amount of provocation turns it into one. Repent quickly, ask for help early, and let the Holy Spirit take the heat out of your voice before you answer. A calm home is built one answer at a time.
Holy Spirit help me each day to walk with a spirit of calmness, maintaining peace in the home.
