The Blessing of Empowerment

Pastor Zubeda Sing · 2 min read

“and so we sent Timothy, our brother and God’s servant in [spreading] the good news of Christ, to strengthen and encourage you [exhorting, comforting, and establishing you] in regard to your faith, so that no one would be unsettled by these difficulties [to which I have referred]”
1 Thes.3v2

Timothy was a son raised by Paul, in the ministry. He was a partaker of the grace on Paul’s life. As a young man he was trained by Paul to be effective in the ministry. He was empowered by the Holy Spirit and then by Paul to then go out and minister to the people of God. Timothy was an excellent minister. He was obedient to the faith and well trained in the ways of the Lord. However, he could never go out and minister as he was doing, if he was not empowered to do so.

Many of us are gifted and talented but we never give off of ourselves. We have been trained in the ways of the Lord but we do not feel confident enough to go out and be a blessing to the body of Christ. When you attend a church regularly and become a partaker of the grace on the life of the man of God or the ministry leader of the ministry team, you become trained in a particular field of ministry. This is empowerment for ministry. It is a blessing that has been imparted to you by the Holy Spirit. Once you come under submission and authority, this gifting begins to operate and you are able to go out and minister. Your ministry may not be on the pulpit but even in the market place. Wherever you are, you are empowered to be a blessing to others. I recommend that you allow the giftings and callings on your life to be used to extend the kingdom of God.
