Giving Honour Whilst Fulfilling My Purpose

“Afterward they traveled from town to town across the entire island until finally they reached Paphos, where they met a Jewish sorcerer, a false prophet named Bar-Jesus. He had attached himself to the governor, Sergius Paulus, who was an intelligent man. The governor invited Barnabas and Saul to visit him, for he wanted to hear the word of God. When the governor saw what had happened, he became a believer, for he was astonished at the teaching about the Lord.”
Whilst in the city of Paphos, Paul and Barnabas got the opportunity to minister to the governor Sergius Paulus. His office did not stop them from ministering to him, in fact he was open to the gospel. The manner in which they communicated with him, showing him honour and respect whilst delivering the message of salvation to him. Their communication was so effective, that despite the opposition of the sorcerer Bar-Jesus, they managed to lead him to the Lord.
They understood who they were speaking to and showed honour to the office of the man they were speaking to. Their attitude, their yielding to the Holy Spirit and their spirit of discernment gave them great victory.
Family of God, I pray for you to be effective in your purpose and calling. Please give place to honour in your life so you can be effective in communicating to the people you are called to.
