Fearlessly Fulfilling My Purpose

“But Elymas, the sorcerer (as his name means in Greek), interfered and urged the governor to pay no attention to what Barnabas and Saul said. He was trying to keep the governor from believing. Saul, also known as Paul, was filled with the Holy Spirit, and he looked the sorcerer in the eye. Then he said, “You son of the devil, full of every sort of deceit and fraud, and enemy of all that is good! Will you never stop perverting the true ways of the Lord? Watch now, for the Lord has laid his hand of punishment upon you, and you will be struck blind. You will not see the sunlight for some time.” Instantly mist and darkness came over the man’s eyes, and he began groping around begging for someone to take his hand and lead him. When the governor saw what had happened, he became a believer, for he was astonished at the teaching about the Lord.”
This passage is a follow up on yesterday’s chronicle on honour. Whilst trying to minister to the Governor, the sorcerer Bar-Jesus tried to stop them from ministering to him. Paul stood up with boldness and address the spirit operating in him. He was fearless, in spite of the presence of the governor declared blindness on the man, informing him of the punishment he would receiving for hindering the work of the Lord. The popularity of the man did not stop Paul from fulfilling his purpose. He was fear free, he knew he had authority over evil spirit so he cast the spirit out. His boldness and lack of fear allowed him to lead the governor to the Lord.
I implore you, please get rid of fear in your life. Fear will impede your progress and cause you to be imprisoned from the freedom you have been called to. Use the authority given to you, to address the fear and command it to leave. amen
