Knowing your Calling
Pastor Zubeda Sing · 1 min read

“Do not neglect the spiritual gift within you, [that special endowment] which was intentionally bestowed on you [by the Holy Spirit] through prophetic utterance when the elders laid their hands on you [at your ordination]. Practice and work hard on these things; be absorbed in them [completely occupied in your ministry], so that your progress will be evident to all. Pay close attention to yourself [concentrate on your personal development] and to your teaching; persevere in these things [hold to them], for as you do this you will ensure salvation both for yourself and for those who hear you”
Paul had laid his hands on Timothy and now he was asking him not to neglect the gift that was given to him. Timothy was a skilled leader who ministered to the people of God despite his youth. He had been trained by Paul and ministered alongside Paul so he was a blessing to the people he came in contact with.
Timothy took careful note of the word preached and he himself was a skilled teacher of the word. Many were blessed by him. The instruction from Paul was that he should not neglect the calling on his life. Family of God, please come alongside and minister to God’s people. When you do this, you will be fulfilled.
