Faith Chronicles

A month of daily readings, written by Dr RJ Sing for his church every month from 2007 until his passing in 2024. Pastor Zubeda Sing wrote alongside him, and she continues them today. Each reading has its scripture, the teaching, a confession and the day's Bible reading plan.

In 2021 and 2022 he also wrote daily messages for believers in business and at work — the Marketplace, kept with the rest of his writing on his own site.

The Spirit’s Clear Mandate to Apostle Paul

Pastor Zubeda Sing

“But when God, who had chosen me and set me apart before I was born, and called me through His grace, was pleased to reveal His Son in me so that I might preach Him among the Gentiles [as the good news—the way of salvation], I did not immediately consult with anyone [for guidance regarding God’s call and His revelation to me]. Nor did I [even] go up to Jerusalem to those who were apostles before me; but I went to Arabia and stayed awhile, and afterward returned once more to Damascus” Gal 1 v15-17

    The Blessing of Compassion

“And when she opened it, she saw the child, and behold, the baby wept. So she had compassion on him, and said, “This is one of the Hebrews’ children.”” Exod 2v6

The background to this story is, the sons of the Hebrews were being killed, especially those who had just been born, because the king had given a decree to have all the s…

    Increase in your Giving

“Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.” Luke 6v38

We are not under the law, we are under grace. We are not commanded to give, we give out of love and a sense of commitment to our God. The Love God has put in our hearts m…

Express the God Kind of Love

“f I speak with human eloquence and angelic ecstasy but don’t love, I’m nothing but the creaking of a rusty gate. If I speak God’s Word with power, revealing all his mysteries and making everything plain as day, and if I have faith that says to a mountain, “Jump,” and it jumps, but I don’t love, I’m nothing. If I give everything I own to the poor and even go to the stake to be burned as a martyr, but I don’t love, I’ve gotten nowhere. So, no matter what I say, what I believe, and what I do, I’m bankrupt without love. Love never gives up. Love cares more for others than for self. Love doesn’t want what it doesn’t have. Love doesn’t strut, Doesn’t have a swelled head, Doesn’t force itself on others, Isn’t always “me first” 1 Corinthians 13v1-5

    Doesn’t fly off the handle,

    Giving

“Give to him who asks of you, and do not turn away from him who wants to borrow from you” Matt 5v42

Giving is a characteristic of our God, He gave his only begotten son that we might live. We were created in his image and likeness so each and every day he is making us m…

    Have Compassion

“Moved with compassion [for his suffering], Jesus reached out with His hand and touched him, and said to him, “I am willing; be cleansed.” The leprosy left him immediately and he was cleansed [completely healed and restored to health]” Mark 1v41-42

Whenever Jesus went about healing the sick, he was moved with compassion. The compassion he felt was what triggered the anointing for healing and everyone he touched was …

    Speak Kindly/graciously

“Conduct yourself with wisdom in your interactions with outsiders (non-believers), make the most of each opportunity [treating it as something precious]. Let your speech at all times be gracious and pleasant, seasoned with salt, so that you will know how to answer each one [who questions you]” COL 4V5-6

OH, the loving kindness and the tender mercies of the Lord. These are his characteristics that show us love and give us the ability to be forgiven. Our God always shows m…

    Forgive

“Then Peter came to Him and asked, “Lord, how many times will my brother sin against me and I forgive him and let it go? Up to seven times?” Jesus answered him, “I say to you, not up to seven times, but seventy times seven” Matt 18v21-22

Forgiveness is a wonderful word but to actually put it in to practice, really takes some courage. Peter came to Jesus to ask him, how many times he has to forgive his bro…

    Practice Gratitude

“O give thanks to the LORD, for He is good; For His lovingkindness endures forever” 1Chron 16v34

Oh the joy of thanksgiving. A grateful person is a free person. A grateful person is a person who is not self- obsessed or self-centred. That person does not worry about …

    Grace for Generosity

“Instruct them to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous, willing to share [with others]. In this way storing up for themselves the enduring riches of a good foundation for the future, so that they may take hold of that which is truly life” 1Tim.6v18

Generosity is such a beautiful quality in a person. A generous person is always giving never considering themselves but always seeing the need of others. God loves a gene…

    The Courage to Apologise

“But those who stood near Paul said, “Are you insulting the high priest of God?” Paul said, “I was not aware, brothers, that he was high priest; for it is written, ‘YOU SHALL NOT SPEAK EVIL OF A RULER OF YOUR PEOPLE.’” Acts 23v 4-5

Paul was taken in for questioning and the interrogation got quite heated. Paul then responded rudely, hence the above scripture. He was humble enough to apologise as he u…

Double Blessing to Share the Love of God

“And not only this, but [with joy] let us exult in our sufferings and rejoice in our hardships, knowing that hardship (distress, pressure, trouble) produces patient endurance; and endurance, proven character (spiritual maturity); and proven character, hope and confident assurance [of eternal salvation]. Such hope [in God’s promises] never disappoints us, because God’s love has been abundantly poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us” Romans 5v3-5

God is love and he has shed his love into our hearts, he poured out this love abundantly. We are the carriers of the love of God. The love has been poured into our hearts…
