Faith Chronicles

A month of daily readings, written by Dr RJ Sing for his church every month from 2007 until his passing in 2024. Pastor Zubeda Sing wrote alongside him, and she continues them today. Each reading has its scripture, the teaching, a confession and the day's Bible reading plan.

In 2021 and 2022 he also wrote daily messages for believers in business and at work — the Marketplace, kept with the rest of his writing on his own site.

The Spirit’s Clear Mandate to Apostle Paul

Pastor Zubeda Sing

“But when God, who had chosen me and set me apart before I was born, and called me through His grace, was pleased to reveal His Son in me so that I might preach Him among the Gentiles [as the good news—the way of salvation], I did not immediately consult with anyone [for guidance regarding God’s call and His revelation to me]. Nor did I [even] go up to Jerusalem to those who were apostles before me; but I went to Arabia and stayed awhile, and afterward returned once more to Damascus” Gal 1 v15-17

The Spirit’s Clear Mandate to Apostle Paul

Nor did I [even] go up to Jerusalem to those who were apostles before me; but I went to Arabia and stayed awhile, and afterward returned once more to Damascus” Gal 1 v15-17

He chose me and set me apart . . . called me through His grace. Paul related that God had chosen him to be an apostle (v. 1) before his birth, not unlike Jeremiah’s call …

    Paul & Barnabas Set Apart

“While they were serving the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Set apart for Me Barnabas and Saul (Paul) for the work to which I have called them.” Then after fasting and praying, they laid their hands on them [in approval and dedication] and sent them away [on their first journey].” Acts 13v2-3

laid their hands on them. The laying on of hands was the church’s way of identifying with and affirming the mission to which God had called a particular person.

    The Mandate of Samson

“For behold, you shall conceive and give birth to a son. No razor shall come upon his head, for the boy shall be a Nazirite [dedicated] to God from birth; and he shall begin to rescue Israel from the hands of the Philistines.”” Judges 13v5

No doubt about it, Samson was special. Before he had even been conceived, an angel of the Lord had set the stage for this man’s life (see Judges 13:3–5). Samson was a Naz…

    Being Mindful

“Therefore, let the one who thinks he stands firm [immune to temptation, being overconfident and self-righteous], take care that he does not fall [into sin and condemnation]” 1Cor 10v12

Please look at this scripture and notice the word “thinks” the standing comes from the thinking. How you think will cause you to stand or run in haste. Even in how we thi…

    Fruitful Imagination

“O LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel, our fathers, keep this for ever in the imagination of the thoughts of the heart of thy people, and prepare their heart unto thee:” 2 Chron 29v18
