Faith Chronicles

A month of daily readings, written by Dr RJ Sing for his church every month from 2007 until his passing in 2024. Pastor Zubeda Sing wrote alongside him, and she continues them today. Each reading has its scripture, the teaching, a confession and the day's Bible reading plan.

In 2021 and 2022 he also wrote daily messages for believers in business and at work — the Marketplace, kept with the rest of his writing on his own site.

The Spirit’s Clear Mandate to Apostle Paul

Pastor Zubeda Sing

“But when God, who had chosen me and set me apart before I was born, and called me through His grace, was pleased to reveal His Son in me so that I might preach Him among the Gentiles [as the good news—the way of salvation], I did not immediately consult with anyone [for guidance regarding God’s call and His revelation to me]. Nor did I [even] go up to Jerusalem to those who were apostles before me; but I went to Arabia and stayed awhile, and afterward returned once more to Damascus” Gal 1 v15-17

    The Mandate of Jacob

“Now may God give you of the dew of heaven [to water your land], And of the fatness (fertility) of the earth, And an abundance of grain and new wine; May peoples serve you, And nations bow down to you; Be lord and master over your brothers, And may your mother’s sons bow down to you. May those who curse you be cursed, And may those who bless you be blessed.”” Genesis 27v27-28

Instead of waiting on God to fulfill his promise concerning her sons (see 25:22–23), Rebekah manipulated the process. Ironically, the result of her deception was personal…

    A Giving Heart

“Let each one give [thoughtfully and with purpose] just as he has decided in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver [and delights in the one whose heart is in his gift]” 2 Corinthians 9v7

We are givers, we are receivers and we are men and women that intentionally sow seed into the kingdom of God. We do not count the cost, we are not afraid whether the bill…

    A Heart for God

“Whatever you do [whatever your task may be], work from the soul [that is, put in your very best effort], as [something done] for the Lord and not for men” Colossians 3v23

As the deer pants [longingly] for the water brooks,

    God Tests the Heart

“I know also, my God, that You test the heart and delight in uprightness and integrity. In the uprightness of my heart I have willingly offered all these things. So now with joy I have seen Your people who are present here, make their offerings willingly and freely to You.” 1 Chronicles 29v17

This is a scripture from the Old Testament so it was for people who were living by the law. They had to live by the 10 commandments or however many commandments there wer…

    The Blessing

“When Esau heard the words of his father, he cried out with a great and extremely bitter cry and said to his father, “Bless me, even me also, O my father!”” Gen 27v36

The blessing of the father over his son was such a vital part of the transference of the blessing in the old Testament. Esau was the first born but the blessing for great…

    I Am a Thriver Not a Survivor!

“Now to Him who is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly more than all that we dare ask or think [infinitely beyond our greatest prayers, hopes, or dreams], according to His power that is at work within us” Eph 3v20

The word abundant is what is known about a thriver, never just enough but more than enough because that is the expectation of a Thriver.

Partner with the Kingdom of God

“Give, and it will be given to you. They will pour into your lap a good measure—pressed down, shaken together, and running over [with no space left for more]. For with the standard of measurement you use [when you do good to others], it will be measured to you in return.” Luke 6v38

Dr Luke, the physician says in the gospel of Luke, give. Giving is a sign of your dependence on God. Giving is a characteristic of God. Giving connects us with the econom…

    The Power of Contentment

“Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content: I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need” Phil 4v11-12

The Apostle Paul was speaking here. He had learnt, that in whatever state he was in, to be content. What is this that he was saying. He had learnt the power of Contentmen…

    My Wealthy Place

“Beloved, I pray that in every way you may succeed and prosper and be in good health [physically], just as [I know] your soul prospers [spiritually].” 3John 1v2

    Be a Deliberate Planner

“Now at Caesarea [Maritima] there was a man named Cornelius, a centurion of what was known as the Italian Regiment, a devout man and one who, along with all his household, feared God. He made many charitable donations to the Jewish people, and prayed to God always.” Acts 10v1

If we look at the above scripture, we notice the man, Cornelius. He was a centurion in the army. He was not a Jew, he was never trained in the Jews laws of giving and tit…
