A Heart for God

“Whatever you do [whatever your task may be], work from the soul [that is, put in your very best effort], as [something done] for the Lord and not for men”
As the deer pants [longingly] for the water brooks,
So my soul pants [longingly] for You, O God.
My soul (my life, my inner self) thirsts for God, for the living God. Psalm 42v1
A man or woman who thirsts after God will be fulfilled, they will flourish and be fruitful in all they do. God’s eyes move to and frow across the earth looking for those who seek him and He fills them. He invites them into his courts and spends time with them as if he has invited them to a banquet. As the person fellowships with God, it is as if they are partaking of a delicious and scrumptious meal of every kind of good thing God has to offer. There is a quenching of thirst, there is a feeding to the hungry soul that leaves the person with a desire for constant fellowship at this table. The sweetness of the presence lingers in the heart of the believer, making the believer desire more of that sweetness. We have to remain thirsty and hungry for God. The Holy Spirit sets up our heart to desire the presence of God. The road map to the father is the word of God.
A man or woman who does not desire the presence of God is barren and unfruitful. Their very countenance shows their lack of spiritual vitality. There is no joy in their eyes and their words reflect what is in their hearts, because out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. They are in a state of apathy, that is a lack of feeling, emotion, interest or concern.
They are in a state of not even caring about God. They are in limbo where even people and things that normally excites or motivates, eg. Social events etc. does not concern them or even take them out of their slumber.
A thriver is not like that at all, there is a hunger and a thirst deep in the heart of the thriver that motivates them to pursue God at all costs.
