Planting Good Seed

Pastor Zubeda Sing · 2 min read

“The seed that fell on good soil represents those who truly hear and understand God’s word and produce a harvest of thirty, sixty, or even a hundred times as much as had been planted!””
Matthew 13v23

Good seeds in the kingdom of God, is the word of God. The soil the word refers to is the soil of our hearts. One seed yields a harvest of whatever the nature of the seed is, if it is apples, then you will yield a harvest of apples.

Likewise, if we have bitter words we plant in the hearts of others, we yield a harvest of bitterness. If we have words of anger, where we lash out to others, we yield a harvest of anger. A parent who is constantly angry, raises a family of angry people. A parent who is devious, raises a family of people who find it very easy to be devious. We need to be cautious of the seed we plant.

The bible says, by our words we are condemned and by our words we are justified. There is such power in our words. We need to practice caution with our words. The only way to train your mouth and heart is to feed your own heart with good words. The word of God says, out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. So, let our hearts be good soil and only allow good seeds to be sown into our hearts. We will then begin to sow good seeds into the hearts of those we come in contact with.

How about us challenging each other, let us sow good seeds in our life so we sow good seed into the lives of those we come in contact with.
