Faith Chronicles

A month of daily readings, written by Dr RJ Sing for his church every month from 2007 until his passing in 2024. Pastor Zubeda Sing wrote alongside him, and she continues them today. Each reading has its scripture, the teaching, a confession and the day's Bible reading plan.

In 2021 and 2022 he also wrote daily messages for believers in business and at work — the Marketplace, kept with the rest of his writing on his own site.

A Fruitful Tree

Pastor Zubeda Sing

“For he will be [nourished] like a tree planted by the waters, That spreads out its roots by the river; And will not fear the heat when it comes; But its leaves will be green and moist. And it will not be anxious and concerned in a year of drought Nor stop bearing fruit” Jeremiah 17v8

    Understanding the Timing of God

“There is a season (a time appointed) for everything and a time for every delight and event or purpose under heaven” ECC 3V1

There is indeed a perfect season and a perfect timing in God. We have a mandate and we have a mission that we are called to. However, we will fulfill each request in its …

Led by the Spirit of God

“But an angel of the Lord said to Philip, “Get up and go south to the road that runs from Jerusalem down to Gaza.” (This is a desert road). So he got up and went; and there was an Ethiopian eunuch [a man of great authority], a court official of Candace, queen of the Ethiopians, who was in charge of all her treasure.” Acts 8v26

There is so much power in following the Holy Spirit when he leads you and guides you in your daily walk. As you spend time in the word of God and drink of his presence ea…

    Pain with Purpose

“As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good in order to bring about this present outcome, that many people would be kept alive [as they are this day]” GEN 50V20

There is not one of us who ever enjoys going through trials or tribulations or even something that challenges us in some way or the other. We prefer a smooth, trouble fre…

    Our Sufficiency is in Christ

“Not that we are sufficiently qualified in ourselves to claim anything as coming from us, but our sufficiency and qualifications come from God” 2 Corinthians 3v5

We carry this confidence in our hearts because of our union with Christ before God. Yet we are not capable enough to do anything in our own strength, for our true compete…

    Being Fully Persuaded

“He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, Roman 4v20 He never stopped believing God’s promise, for he was made strong in his faith to father a child. And because he was mighty in faith and convinced that God had all the power needed to fulfill his promises, Abraham glorified God!” Romans 4v20

God gave Abraham a promise, that he would be a father of many nations. Many years went by from when the promise was given. He was now a hundred years old and Sarah was 90…

    Faith to Overcome

“Now a woman, having a flow of blood for twelve years, who had spent all her livelihood on physicians and could not be healed by any, came from behind and touched the border of His garment. And immediately her flow of blood stopped.” Luke 8v43

The woman had only heard about Jesus. She had never heard him preach nor had she had any interaction with him. She just heard from others that he was a teacher and healer…

    Be a Listener

“So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath; for the wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God. James 1v19 My dearest brothers and sisters, take this to heart: Be quick to listen, but slow to speak. And be slow to become angry, for human anger is never a legitimate tool to promote God’s righteous purpose.” James 1v19 (Passion translation)

Listening is a skill. The holy Spirit develops this skill in us for the purpose of helping others.

    Be an Encourager

“Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God; but exhort one another daily, while it is called “Today,” lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin” Heb 3v12-14

Therefore comfort each other and edify one another, just as you also are doing. 1Thes 5v11

    Faith & Love

“For [if we are] in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision means anything, but only faith activated and expressed and working through love” Gal 5v6

We can have faith that can move a mountain but if we do not have love, we have nothing. Faith works by love. Love is the engine to our faith. We have to develop our love …

    Practice Patience

“My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.” James 1v2-4

“Patience” here transcends the idea of bearing affliction; it includes the idea of standing fast under pressure, with a staying power that turns adversities into opportun…

    Praise Continually

“I will give thanks and praise the LORD, with all my heart; I will tell aloud all Your wonders and marvelous deeds. I will rejoice and exult in you; I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High.” Psalm 9v1-2

Praise is a weapon of warfare. It is a cultivated art in the heart of a believer. There is never a time in our lives that we cannot praise. The song says, let everything …

    The Identity of the Believer

“For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him” 2 Cor 5v21

Jesus came into our lives to increase our value in this life. We are no longer sinners, we are saints and children of the most high God. We are the righteousness of God i…
