Be a Listener
Pastor Zubeda Sing · 1 min read

“So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath; for the wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God. James 1v19 My dearest brothers and sisters, take this to heart: Be quick to listen, but slow to speak. And be slow to become angry, for human anger is never a legitimate tool to promote God’s righteous purpose.”
Listening is a skill. The holy Spirit develops this skill in us for the purpose of helping others.
We must make a choice to allow the Holy Spirit to develop this skill in us. We cannot be too quick to answer a matter. We need to listen more and speak less. The problem most of us have is, we are too busy forming an answer when someone is speaking so we do not really hear what the person is saying. When you are listening to the person, you will be amazed at the discernment you will receive from the holy Spirit to hear more clearly what the person is saying to you. The anointing of the prophetic would come upon you and you will see things only the Holy Spirit can show you. This builds and edifies the person and builds your confidence in God as well.
Take the time to listen, listen with an open heart. Engage the Holy Spirit so the spirit of discernment operates in your life and soon you will have a word in season to the weary.
