A Skillful Tongue

A skilful tongue is a trained tongue. A tongue that has been trained and brought in line by the word of God and the wisdom of God. The skilful tongue is full of wisdom and understanding. The person with a skilful tongue manages their thoughts and conversations well as the wisdom of God allows them to be mindful of their words. They have a word in season to the weary.

A skilful tongue of a person make experience anger or dissatisfaction, but their training and discipline of the tongue, allows them to communicate effectively. They manage to speak without letting their emotions get in the way. Our emotions are connection to our hearts and our hearts is what makes our tongue speak. The words we may say may not always be good or pleasing so we have to allow the Holy Spirit to discipline our tongues. He will put a guard on our mouths and a sentry at the door of our lips. We become skilful in the way we communicate. Witnessing becomes easier with a skilful tongue as the wisdom of God in our hearts gives us discernment and lets us know whether we should speak or not. We are growing unto perfection. No need to feel condemned if you have not got here yet. Many of us may never get there as we struggle along with our emotions and we want to just run our mouths. The Holy Spirit is the greatest trainer and teacher.

The thriver is a man or woman who has allowed themselves to be trained in their communication, giving over their tongue to the Holy Spirit. They allow themselves to be disciplined the art of speaking.
