Pain with Purpose

“As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good in order to bring about this present outcome, that many people would be kept alive [as they are this day]”

There is not one of us who ever enjoys going through trials or tribulations or even something that challenges us in some way or the other. We prefer a smooth, trouble free life that keeps us in our comfort zone, safe and warm. Unfortunately, that is just not what we are called to or for.

God has given us a mandate and a purpose for this life. Just like Joseph in the book of Genesis. This scripture is from a conversation that took place between him and his brothers when they came to Egypt and realized that it was Joseph that they had to report to. He was second in charge in the land. This was the man they hated, the man they put in the pit and sold as a slave. Joseph was the man who experienced the pain of these events. He had a dream and in this dream it seemed everything would be so easy and he would be in charge of them all. However a dream and a prophecy does not give you any idea of what you will go through to have this dream fulfilled.

There is pain involved, there is lot of difficulties that you will go through in order for you to fulfill your purpose. There will be adjustments in your attitude, there will be refinement in your love so you can get along with people. You get to trust God more in all of this. You get to understand that he will never leave you nor forsake you. Like Joseph you will understand that there is a purpose for the pain.

When Joseph was in the pit, I am sure he was not very comfortable, when he was sold as a slave, it must have affected his dignity as he had been brought up by his dad and treasured. He then went to the house of Potipher as a slave. He served and experienced the favour of God. There came a day when he stood before Pharoah, so the dream was fulfilled.

Give thanks in the pain, there definitely is a purpose to the pain.
