Run with Purpose

Pastor Zubeda Sing · 3 min read

“Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith”
Heb12v1

This journey of salvation is not a short run, but a run of endurance. Endurance means: the power to withstand hardship or stress and the ability to keep going despite fatigue, pain or difficult circumstances.

Having walked this road for more than 45 years, I can truly say, it is not an easy journey, it is a tiring race but the God with whom you walk, keeps you in all of your ways. He walks along side you, the Holy Spirit encourages you and comforts you. In your joy He reminds you to keep focused on him all the time. Some parts of the journey are fast paced and before you know it, you have reached a destination you did not plan on going to. All of this is in the plan of God. You just keep practicing on your running, because you are not alone. An example of a destination you never planned to go to, is when your life with your family is going good and your parents are with you. You have sufficient support and your finances are ok and suddenly you lose a parent (one that you were really, really close to) and your world is shaken. You ask God “how could this happen?”. You are bewildewered, your normal is interrupted and your are unseated from your comfort zone. God did not cause the death, but in it, He will work all things together for your good.

He gives you the power to endure and overcome.

He turns the evil for your good.

He gives you strength to endure.

He gives you wisdom on how to navigate your new normal.

He will put people around you who will be a help to you.

He will show you how to do things you could never do.

There is a new found confidence and faith that you experience as a result of the difficulty you have encountered.

In everything you just keep running the race of faith, you keep fighting the good fight of faith. You continue to speak the name of Jesus and declare the things you desire to see and want for your life. No matter what you face, keep running with the goal of achieving the plans and purposes God has for your life.

The thriver hears the sound of war (against his flesh) and they keep running.

The thriver feels the wind of adversity and chooses to keep running.

We can do this, we are winners in this life.
