Faith Chronicles

A month of daily readings, written by Dr RJ Sing for his church every month from 2007 until his passing in 2024. Pastor Zubeda Sing wrote alongside him, and she continues them today. Each reading has its scripture, the teaching, a confession and the day's Bible reading plan.

In 2021 and 2022 he also wrote daily messages for believers in business and at work — the Marketplace, kept with the rest of his writing on his own site.

The Fruit of Love

Pastor Zubeda Sing

“But the fruit of the Spirit [the result of His presence within us] is love [unselfish concern for others], joy, [inner] peace, patience [not the ability to wait, but how we act while waiting], kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such things there is no law” Galatians 5v22-23

    Justifying grace:

“God's grace that restores people to God since there is only one God, who will justify the circumcised by faith and the uncircumcised through that same faith” Rom 3v30

    Saving Grace

“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith —and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do” Ephesians 2v8-9

Saving grace is grace that is part of our salvation and gives us an understanding of the grace imparted to us at the death and resurrection of Jesus.

    Great Grace

“For it was always in his perfect plan to adopt us as his delightful children, through our union with Jesus, the Anointed One, so that his tremendous love that cascades over us would glorify his grace —for the same love he has for his Beloved One, Jesus, he has for us. And this unfolding plan brings him great pleasure!” Ephesians 1v5-6

    The Blessing of Perseverance

“Stand firm in the one Spirit, striving together as one for the faith of the gospel without being frightened in any way by those who oppose you. This is a sign to them that they will be destroyed, but that you will be saved—and that by God” PHILIPPIANS 1:27–28

There has rarely been a time in the last 2,000 years when Christians haven’t been ridiculed and criticized in some way by people.

    The Courage to Apologise

“But those who stood near Paul said, “Are you insulting the high priest of God?” Paul said, “I was not aware, brothers, that he was high priest; for it is written, ‘YOU SHALL NOT SPEAK EVIL OF A RULER OF YOUR PEOPLE.’” Acts 23v 4-5

Paul was taken in for questioning and the interrogation got quite heated. Paul then responded rudely, hence the above scripture. He was humble enough to apologise as he u…

    Knowing your Calling

“Do not neglect the spiritual gift within you, [that special endowment] which was intentionally bestowed on you [by the Holy Spirit] through prophetic utterance when the elders laid their hands on you [at your ordination]. Practice and work hard on these things; be absorbed in them [completely occupied in your ministry], so that your progress will be evident to all. Pay close attention to yourself [concentrate on your personal development] and to your teaching; persevere in these things [hold to them], for as you do this you will ensure salvation both for yourself and for those who hear you” 1Timothy 4v14

Paul had laid his hands on Timothy and now he was asking him not to neglect the gift that was given to him. Timothy was a skilled leader who ministered to the people of G…
