Faith Chronicles

A month of daily readings, written by Dr RJ Sing for his church every month from 2007 until his passing in 2024. Pastor Zubeda Sing wrote alongside him, and she continues them today. Each reading has its scripture, the teaching, a confession and the day's Bible reading plan.

In 2021 and 2022 he also wrote daily messages for believers in business and at work — the Marketplace, kept with the rest of his writing on his own site.

The Spirit’s Clear Mandate to Apostle Paul

Pastor Zubeda Sing

“But when God, who had chosen me and set me apart before I was born, and called me through His grace, was pleased to reveal His Son in me so that I might preach Him among the Gentiles [as the good news—the way of salvation], I did not immediately consult with anyone [for guidance regarding God’s call and His revelation to me]. Nor did I [even] go up to Jerusalem to those who were apostles before me; but I went to Arabia and stayed awhile, and afterward returned once more to Damascus” Gal 1 v15-17

    The Blessing of Answered Prayer

“Oh, GOD-of-the-Angel-Armies, If you’ll take a good, hard look at my pain, If you’ll quit neglecting me and go into action for me By giving me a son, I’ll give him completely, unreservedly to you. I’ll set him apart for a life of holy discipline. 1 Samuel 1v11 It so happened that as she continued in prayer before GOD, Eli was watching her closely. Hannah was praying in her heart, silently. Her lips moved, but no sound was heard” 1 Samuel 1v12

This is the story of Hannah, the mother of the prophet Samuel. The prophet who anointed David as king. Here was his mother who was barren and there was no way she could f…

    Develop the Skill of Praying

“And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;” Luke 18v1

The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it …

    Be a Listener

“I have a lot more to say about this, but it is hard to get it across to you since you’ve picked up this bad habit of not listening. By this time you ought to be teachers yourselves, yet here I find you need someone to sit down with you and go over the basics on God again, starting from square one—baby’s milk, when you should have been on solid food long ago! Milk is for beginners, inexperienced in God’s ways; solid food is for the mature, who have some practice in telling right from wrong” Heb.5v11-14

Listening is a developed skill. We have an ear that one can see from our physical body, the ear I am speaking of is the inner ear that is trained to hear the voice of God…

    Apologise

“David said to God, “Is it not I who commanded the people to be counted? I am the one who has sinned and done evil; but as for these sheep [the people of Israel], what have they done? O LORD my God, please let Your hand be against me and my father’s house, but not against Your people that they should be plagued.”” 1 Chron 21v17

David was a man after God’s own heart. He had a pliable heart that was willing to ask for forgiveness, willing to apologise no matter what a great king he was. He was so …

    Graceful Thanks Giving

“We give thanks to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, as we pray always for you, for we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus [how you lean on Him with absolute confidence in His power, wisdom, and goodness], and of the [unselfish] love which you have for all the saints (God’s people)” Col 1v3

We need to cultivate the art of thanks giving in to our everyday life. When we constantly give thanks unto the Lord, there is a grace that comes on us that makes our live…

    Thankful to Be a Worshipper

“All the ends of the earth will remember and turn to the LORD, And all the families of the nations will bow down and worship before You, For the kingship and the kingdom are the LORD’S And He rules over the nations.” Psalm 22v27-28

What an honour to worship the father. The angels and the elders cry out each day, Holy, Holy, Holy. We too can wake each day to glorify the father from our hearts in wors…

    Thankful for the Comforter

“And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor—Counselor, Strengthener, Standby), to be with you forever— the Spirit of Truth, whom the world cannot receive [and take to its heart] because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He (the Holy Spirit) remains with you continually and will be in you.” John 14v16-17

The holy Spirit is our best friend, we cannot do life without him. Jesus knew this, hence he said to the disciples, it is necessary that I go away. Peter was really offen…

Thankful for the Shoes of Peace

“and having strapped on YOUR FEET THE GOSPEL OF PEACE IN PREPARATION [to face the enemy with firm-footed stability and the readiness produced by the good news].” Ephesians 6v15

The book of Philippians tells us that God will garrison our hearts with peace, a peace that passes all human understanding. Again the bible says in Isaiah that God will k…

Thankful for the Presence of God

“And when they had prayed, the place where they were meeting together was shaken [a sign of God’s presence]; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak the word of God with boldness and courage.” Acts 4v31

Where there is the presence of God, there is fullness of joy and lasting peace. The presence of God transforms our lives and those around us. There is joy unspeakable in …

    Honour God with your Thanksgiving

“Oh give thanks unto the Lord of lords; For his lovingkindness endureth for ever: To him who alone doeth great wonders; For his lovingkindness endureth for ever:” Psalm 136v3

Being a thankful person brings great joy to our heavenly Father. Thankfulness is an art, a skill that needs to be developed. You have to consciously start to thank the Lo…

    Selfish Decisions

“Then Jezebel his wife came to him and asked him, “Why is your spirit so troubled that you have not eaten?” And he said to her, “Because I spoke to Naboth the Jezreelite and said to him, ‘Give me your vineyard for money; or if you prefer, I will give you another vineyard for it.’ But he answered, ‘I will not give you my vineyard.’” Jezebel his wife said to him, “Do you now reign over Israel? Get up, eat food, and let your heart rejoice; I will give you the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite.” So she wrote letters in Ahab’s name and sealed them with his seal, and sent them to the elders and nobles who lived with Naboth in his city. Now in the letters she wrote, “Proclaim a fast and seat Naboth at the head of the people; and seat two worthless and unprincipled men opposite him, and have them testify against him, saying, ‘You cursed God and the king.’ Then take him out and stone him to death.”” 1 Kings 21v5-10

The whole country belonged to King Ahab, however he still desired the land of Naboth. His greed drove him to discontentment. His wife heard about it and had the man kille…
