Apologise

Pastor Zubeda Sing · 2 min read

“David said to God, “Is it not I who commanded the people to be counted? I am the one who has sinned and done evil; but as for these sheep [the people of Israel], what have they done? O LORD my God, please let Your hand be against me and my father’s house, but not against Your people that they should be plagued.””
1 Chron 21v17

David was a man after God’s own heart. He had a pliable heart that was willing to ask for forgiveness, willing to apologise no matter what a great king he was. He was so humble that he was willing to take the punishment of the people upon himself. He was selfless our King David and this was why God loved him so. He made him a promise that his lineage would always be on the throne. To this day, God has kept that promise. Jesus was of the line of David. This is our God who keeps his promises.

We too, need to ask the Holy Spirit to give us a yielded, pliable heart that God can work with. A soft tender heart allows you to apologise and humble yourself. The Holy Spirit works with a heart like this and we find ourselves hearing the voice of God on a daily basis. A calloused heart is a heart that never hears from God. We become insensitive to the nudging of the spirit of God and hence we never change. We live a bitter, hard life, striving and being frustrated. God is not angry with us, he sent us the Holy Spirit who is our comforter and guide so he could work with our hearts to do his will and have his way in our lives. When we live like this, our lives become easier and our prayers are answered by the speed of the spirit of God. it’s an amazing life but it is a life that needs to be cultivated by the Holy Spirit so we can daily, practice the presence of God.

Jesus came to give us life, life to the full till it overflows. Learn to forgive and also learn to say you sorry. Do not have a stubborn heart, you will eventually be a broken person. Stubborness is as the spirit of witchcraft. We are not of that tribe. We are yielded vessels to God.
