God Awaits Your Prayers

Dr RJ Sing · 1 min read

“For the people shall dwell in Zion at Jerusalem: thou shalt weep no more: he will be very gracious unto thee at the voice of thy cry; when he shall hear it, he will answer thee.”
Isaiah 30:19

Prayer is an act of drawing near to God. (See Ps. 145:18-19) God is omnipotent. He does not need our prayers. He can do all the things that we want to ask of Him without our praying, because He already knows what we need, before we even ask. But when we pray, we prove to God that we want to communicate with Him.

Prayer is a stepping stone that leads to a higher objective. Every time we pray to God in our distress, we realize that we need God more than we need our prayers to be answered. He allows distress in the lives of His children, because He knows that desperate people pray the most fervently. Think about it. Your life is often difficult so that you can learn to have an unwavering trust in God.

Prayers can also be a blessing, if these prayers bring you closer to God. Therefore, continue to pray, since God longs to be gracious to you, He wants to show you compassion! “And therefore will the LORD wait, that he may be gracious unto you, and therefore will he be exalted, that he may have mercy upon you: for the LORD [is] a God of judgment: blessed [are] all they that wait for him.” Isaiah 30:18.
