Thankful for the Comforter

Pastor Wesley & Yajhna Sing · 1 min read

“And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor—Counselor, Strengthener, Standby), to be with you forever— the Spirit of Truth, whom the world cannot receive [and take to its heart] because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He (the Holy Spirit) remains with you continually and will be in you.”
John 14v16-17

The holy Spirit is our best friend, we cannot do life without him. Jesus knew this, hence he said to the disciples, it is necessary that I go away. Peter was really offended by this and Jesus had to rebuke him. Jesus could not change Peter in his physical presence but he knew once the Holy Spirit came, Peter would be changed from the inside out. Surely this is what happened. On the day of Pentecost, it was Peter who stood up and spoke and won 3000 souls as the Holy Spirit gave him the power to speak. Do you agree? We need the Holy Spirit so we can allow the shaping and the making of the Holy Spirit on the inside of us.

Give thanks today for the presence of God in our lives and the power that fills our hearts to make the necessary changes.
