The Blessing of the Comforter

“And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor—Counselor, Strengthener, Standby), to be with you forever— the Spirit of Truth, whom the world cannot receive [and take to its heart] because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He (the Holy Spirit) remains with you continually and will be in you. John 14v16-17”
Role of the Spirit
What a privilege and an honour to have the right of having the Holy Spirit residing in you.
Jesus in his earthly form could never meet the needs of all the people. He had to go away to the father so he could send us the Holy Spirit who would live on the inside of us. The Holy Spirit is our comforter, he comforts us when we need comforting. He does a whole lot more, he is our intercessor, he prays on our behalf. He is our counsellor, he counsels us when we do not know what to do. He is our strengthener, he gives us strength when we are weak and without hope. He is a standby, when we are alone or feel lost, he is always close by to offer help.
We are blessed to have the comforter, the Holy Spirit on our side 24/7 so we are never alone or without the help of heaven in our earthly situations. We have a direct line to heaven as he is touched with the feelings of our needs and wants and will always come to the rescue. Trust and believe, all things are possible to him/her who believes. What is impossible with man, is possible with our God.
