Develop the Skill of Praying
Pastor Zubeda Sing · 2 min read

“And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;”
The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months. And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit. James 5v16-18
A believer in Jesus Christ has been equipped with power from on high to effect changes in the earth. We can have whatever we say, we can move mountains, we can heal the sick and we can cast out demons. That is who we are in Christ. We are empowered. We are equipped, we are enabled.
The power is increased and intensified in our prayer life. As we take the time to fellowship with the Holy Spirit, as we make Jesus more real in our life, our prayer life changes. We no longer pray because we have to, no, it is a passion that builds up and starts to overtake your life. When you arise each morning, it is not you just getting up, it is like someone is nudging you to get up, it is the Holy Spirit who is waking you up to say to you, let us chat. Really, he is calling you to pray. This is not a religious time where you begin to just talk, no, you respond to the voice of God who is speaking to you so you can get more of him in you. The more time that you give to him, the more you are being trained and skilled to pray effectively. The scripture in James says, you have tremendous power available to you. The skill to pray for us is an absolute necessity. Please take up this skill so you become effective in this life. People are waiting on you to take up this skill so you can effect changes in your world. You can do this! God is with you and for you! What a beautiful skill, no exams are necessary, only. My heart and my time.
