Faith Chronicles

A month of daily readings, written by Dr RJ Sing for his church every month from 2007 until his passing in 2024. Pastor Zubeda Sing wrote alongside him, and she continues them today. Each reading has its scripture, the teaching, a confession and the day's Bible reading plan.

In 2021 and 2022 he also wrote daily messages for believers in business and at work — the Marketplace, kept with the rest of his writing on his own site.

God Reveals Himself Through His Son

“If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him. 8 Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us. 9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?” John 14:7-9

No one has ever seen God. He is too great and too holy for man to lay eyes on “…you cannot see my face, for no one may see me and live,” God explained…

    God Knows Everything About You

“Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.” Hebrews 4:13

God knows everything about us. God saw us even before we were born. It is easy to hide things from other people, but not from God. He even knows your thoughts. There is nowhere…

    God Knows You by Name

“For Jacob my servant's sake, and Israel mine elect, I have even called thee by thy name: I have surnamed thee, though thou hast not known me.” Isaiah 45:4

Speaking through the prophet Isaiah, the Lord assured Cyrus, for the sake of Israel, He had summoned him by name, even though Cyrus did not acknowledge Him. This is the only time in the…

    Nothing Is Impossible for God

“And the LORD said unto Abraham, Wherefore did Sarah laugh, saying, Shall I of a surety bear a child, which am old? Is any thing too hard for the LORD? At the time appointed I will return unto thee, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.” Genesis 18:13-14

The Bible is filled with ‘impossible’ stories. If they were newspaper headlines they would definitely cause a stir. “Woman becomes a mother at 90!”, “A talking donkey!”, “Walking through the sea on dry ground”…

    God Forgives You

“He will not always chide: neither will he keep his anger for ever. He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities. As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.” Psalm 103:9-10, 12

In God’s eyes, every man deserves the death penalty, because of his inherent sinfulness. God is however merciful and loving. He does not hold the wrongs that we commit every day against us. He…

    God’s Name Is Your Safety

“And Moses said unto God, Behold, when I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them, The God of your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they shall say to me, What is his name? what shall I say unto them? And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you” Exodus 3:13-14

When Moses wanted to know God’s Name, God revealed Himself as “I am who I am”. This name reflects something of God’s nature. The Hebrew for God’s first name can also be translated as…

    God Is Everywhere

“Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? saith the LORD. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith the LORD” Jeremiah 23:24

There is no place on earth where we can hide from God. He is everywhere. For this reason, God’s children can be certain that He will always be by their side. While Jesus dwelt…

    God Is Trustworthy

“Are there any among the vanities of the Gentiles that can cause rain? or can the heavens give showers? art not thou he, O LORD our God? therefore we will wait upon thee: for thou hast made all these things” Jeremiah 14:22

In the Bible we often read about idols. Every nation worshipped different gods. Today there are many religions in the world. The New Age Movement and some religions claim that all these different gods…

    God Knows You

“To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. O LORD, thou hast searched me, and known me. Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off.” Psalm 139:1-2

Even though God is great and omnipotent. He knows each one of us. He knows absolutely everything about us. He perceives our thoughts from afar, the Psalmist writes. He saw us even before we…

    You Are God’s Temple!

“JOD. Thy hands have made me and fashioned me: give me understanding, that I may learn thy commandments”.” Psalm 119:73

I will never forget the first time I looked at a scan of my unborn grandchild. It was explained to us in great detail where the little head, legs, arms, hands and feet appeared…

    A God Who Sees!

“And she called the name of the LORD that spake unto her, Thou God seest me: for she said, Have I also here looked after him that seeth me?” Genesis 16:13

Hagar was mistreated by Sarai, so she fled. In the desert, God met her at a spring and asked her, “Hagar, where have you come from, and where are you going?” (v.8). When Hagar…

    God’s Love Is Everlasting

“And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory. But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children's children” Psalm 103:11, 17

One person’s love for another is often subject to change. Many marriages fail because the love between marriage partners wanes as time goes by. The high divorce rate indicates that human love is inconstant.…
