God Forgives You

“He will not always chide: neither will he keep his anger for ever. He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities. As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.”
In God’s eyes, every man deserves the death penalty, because of his inherent sinfulness. God is however merciful and loving. He does not hold the wrongs that we commit every day against us. He does not punish us the way we deserve to be punished – He loves us far too much for that. Instead, God sent His Son to pay the debt for our sins.
God removed our sins from us, as far as the east is from the west. All we need to do is to identify and confess our sins and accept His gift of forgiveness. In the Bible, we are often reminded that God is gracious and forgiving. “But you are a forgiving God, gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love,” writes Nehemiah (Neh 9:17).
You, too, can depend on God’s love and grace. God is willing to forgive you your sins time and again – provided you confess your sins and are willing to rid yourself of them. You should not ask the Lord for forgiveness, and then continue in your wrong-doing.
