Faith Chronicles

A month of daily readings, written by Dr RJ Sing for his church every month from 2007 until his passing in 2024. Pastor Zubeda Sing wrote alongside him, and she continues them today. Each reading has its scripture, the teaching, a confession and the day's Bible reading plan.

In 2021 and 2022 he also wrote daily messages for believers in business and at work — the Marketplace, kept with the rest of his writing on his own site.

The Spirit’s Clear Mandate to Apostle Paul

Pastor Zubeda Sing

“But when God, who had chosen me and set me apart before I was born, and called me through His grace, was pleased to reveal His Son in me so that I might preach Him among the Gentiles [as the good news—the way of salvation], I did not immediately consult with anyone [for guidance regarding God’s call and His revelation to me]. Nor did I [even] go up to Jerusalem to those who were apostles before me; but I went to Arabia and stayed awhile, and afterward returned once more to Damascus” Gal 1 v15-17

    The Prophet Mandate for Samuel

“Now Samuel grew; and the LORD was with him and He let none of his words fail [to be fulfilled].” 1 Samuel 3v19

Samuel was the son of Hannah. She was barren when the prophet gave her a word that she would have a child. She made a promise to God that she would bring him back to the …

    A Heart Examined

“But just as we have been approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel [that tells the good news of salvation through faith in Christ], so we speak, not as [if we were trying] to please people [to gain power and popularity], but to please God who examines our hearts [expecting our best].” 1 Thessalonians 2v4

When we serve in the kingdom, we should serve to please God and not win the praises of men. We do not serve to get something or gain popularity. It is a service from the …

    God Looks at the Heart

“But the LORD said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the LORD sees not as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.”” 1 Samuel 16v7-8

The above scripture took place when Samuel went to anoint David as king after the anointing had left Saul. Saul was a king chosen by the people, David was a king, chosen …

    Do Not Judge Others

“Do not judge and criticize and condemn [others unfairly with an attitude of self-righteous superiority as though assuming the office of a judge], so that you will not be judged [unfairly]. For just as you [hypocritically] judge others [when you are sinful and unrepentant], so will you be judged; and in accordance with your standard of measure [used to pass out judgment], judgment will be measured to you” Mat 7v1-2

Jesus spoke plainly in the book of Matthew, saying we should not judge others. I like the way the amplified bible puts it “Do not judge or criticize or condemn others.” W…

    Encourage Yourself in the Lord

“And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the LORD his God” 1 Sam 30v6

David was at his lowest point. He was running from Saul who sought to kill him. God had added to his life a group of men who had been abandoned and frustrated. They had w…

    Vision Must Be Written

“Then the LORD answered me and said, “Write the vision And engrave it plainly on [clay] tablets So that the one who reads it will run. “For the vision is yet for the appointed [future] time It hurries toward the goal [of fulfillment]; it will not fail. Even though it delays, wait [patiently] for it, Because it will certainly come; it will not delay.” Habakkuk 2:2-3

A Thriver’s vision must be clear and visible (written plainly).

    The Great Commission

“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” Matthew 28v19-20

We have a mandate given to us by God. The mandate is for us to become soul winners. To witness to the people, we meet about Jesus. We need to be a reflection of the great…

    See the Potential in Others

“Dear Titus, legitimate son in the faith: Receive everything God our Father and Jesus our Savior give you!” Titus 1v5

This short letter from Paul to Titus outlines some of what this Gentile convert accomplished on Paul’s behalf (see v. 5). Titus was a competent member of Paul’s ministry …

    I Am a Team Player

“Walking along the beach of Lake Galilee, Jesus saw two brothers: Simon (later called Peter) and Andrew. They were fishing, throwing their nets into the lake. It was their regular work. Jesus said to them, “Come with me. I’ll make a new kind of fisherman out of you. I’ll show you how to catch men and women instead of perch and bass.” They didn’t ask questions, but simply dropped their nets and followed.” Matthew 4v198-20

Jesus was the son of God, He was divinity in humanity. God had given him a mandate to come into the world and die on the cross, to reconcile man, back to God. As he journ…

    Maintaining Good Relationships

“Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thine hand to do it” Prov 3v27

Withholding good is not a neutral thing. The proverb assumes the power to help is already in your hand, and it calls the delay itself a wrong. Many relationships are not …

Be Comfortable with Who God Has Called you to Be

“However, Barnabas took him and brought him to the apostles, and described to them how Saul had seen the Lord on the road [to Damascus], and how He had spoken to him, and how at Damascus Saul had preached openly and spoken confidently in the name of Jesus.” Acts 9v27

Barnabas was a man called by God and he was anointed to do mighty works. He was a wealthy man, he sold his properties and left the money at the feet of the apostles. He g…

    Refuse to Judge

“Do not judge and criticize and condemn [others unfairly with an attitude of self-righteous superiority as though assuming the office of a judge], so that you will not be judged [unfairly]. For just as you [hypocritically] judge others [when you are sinful and unrepentant], so will you be judged; and in accordance with your standard of measure [used to pass out judgment], judgment will be measured to you.” Matthew 7v1-2

Judgement and criticism are blessing blockers. They also cause strain in relationships. Is it worth being a judgemental person? No. Being Judgemental is saying you are be…
