Faith Chronicles

A month of daily readings, written by Dr RJ Sing for his church every month from 2007 until his passing in 2024. Pastor Zubeda Sing wrote alongside him, and she continues them today. Each reading has its scripture, the teaching, a confession and the day's Bible reading plan.

In 2021 and 2022 he also wrote daily messages for believers in business and at work — the Marketplace, kept with the rest of his writing on his own site.

The Spirit’s Clear Mandate to Apostle Paul

Pastor Zubeda Sing

“But when God, who had chosen me and set me apart before I was born, and called me through His grace, was pleased to reveal His Son in me so that I might preach Him among the Gentiles [as the good news—the way of salvation], I did not immediately consult with anyone [for guidance regarding God’s call and His revelation to me]. Nor did I [even] go up to Jerusalem to those who were apostles before me; but I went to Arabia and stayed awhile, and afterward returned once more to Damascus” Gal 1 v15-17

Be Hospitable to the Household of God

“A woman named Lydia, from the city of Thyatira, a dealer in purple fabrics who was [already] a worshiper of God, listened to us; and the Lord opened her heart to pay attention and to respond to the things said by Paul. And when she was baptized, along with her household, she pleaded with us, saying, “If you have judged me and decided that I am faithful to the Lord [a true believer], come to my house and stay.” And she persuaded us.” Acts 16v14-15

This was a woman who was ministered to by Paul and on hearing the word of God she was so convinced she received the Lord as her personal saviour. Her joy and gratitude di…

    Giving Without Fear

“For God did not give us a spirit of timidity or cowardice or fear, but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of sound judgment and personal discipline [abilities that result in a calm, well-balanced mind and self-control].” 2 Timothy 1v7

One of my favourite scriptures in the bible. I refuse to court fear, it has been a large part of my life in my growing up years, so I hate it with a vengeance. The enemy …

Casting My Bread on the Water

“Cast your bread on the surface of the waters, [be diligently active, make thoughtful decisions], for you will find it after many days. Give a portion to seven, or even [divide it] to eight, for you do not know what misfortune may occur on the earth. If the clouds are full [of rain], they empty themselves on the earth; and if a tree falls toward the south or toward the north, in the place where the tree falls, there it lies. He who watches the wind [waiting for all conditions to be perfect] will not sow [seed], and he who looks at the clouds will not reap [a harvest].” Ecclesiastes 11v1-4

Giving with a heart passionate about God. Actually, this is sowing your bread which is needful to you. As you reach out in faith and sow even your bread upon the waters, …

Making Room for Others in Our Giving

“For Barnabas was a good man [privately and publicly—his godly character benefited both himself and others] and he was full of the Holy Spirit and full of faith [in Jesus the Messiah, through whom believers have everlasting life]. And a great number of people were brought to the Lord. And Barnabas left for Tarsus to search for Saul; and when he found him, he brought him back to Antioch. For an entire year they met [with others] in the church and instructed large numbers; and it was in Antioch that the disciples were first called Christians.” Acts 11v24

Barnabas was given the task of evangelizing the saints at Antioch. He noticed how excited and willing the people were to accept the Lord and he realized that the work was…

The Wisdom of Giving of One Self

“Wisdom is the principal thing; Therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding.” Proverbs 4v7

Wisdom brings out the best of God inside of us. We are able to think higher thoughts and operate on a higher level. The little things will not bother us, as we know we ha…

    Having a Clean Heart

“Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me.” Psalm 51v10

Giving is a heart attitude. David knew this hence he asked the Father to give him a clean heart so he would be pleasing to the Father. In everything, David consulted God …

    Give of Yourself

“Then Jesus therefore saw His mother, and the disciple whom He loved standing by, He said to His mother, “Woman, behold your son!” Then He said to the disciple, “Behold your mother!” And from that hour that disciple took her to his own home.” John 19v26

Jesus looked at John at the cross and immediately said to him that His mother, would now be John’s Mother. No consultation or negotiation. John just accepted the words of…

    Give Sacrificially

“Now Jesus sat opposite the treasury and saw how the people put money into the treasury. And many who were rich put in much. Then one poor widow came and threw in two mites, which make a quadrans. So He called His disciples to Himself and said to them, “Assuredly, I say to you that this poor widow has put in more than all those who have given to the treasury; for they all put in out of their abundance, but she out of her poverty put in all that she had, her whole livelihood.”” Mark 12v41

This widow only had two mites, the last of her income, everything she ever owned, yet she came willingly and put all she had into the house of God. Her Sacrificial giving…

    Giving with a Willing Heart

“Now when she had weaned him, she took him up with her, with three bulls, one ephah of flour, and a skin of wine, and brought him to the house of the LORD in Shiloh. And the child was young. Then they slaughtered a bull, and brought the child to Eli. And she said, “O my lord! As your soul lives, my lord, I am the woman who stood by you here, praying to the LORD. For this child I prayed, and the LORD has granted me my petition which I asked of Him. Therefore I also have lent him to the LORD; as long as he lives he shall be lent to the LORD.” So they worshiped the LORD there.” 1 Samuel 1v24-28

This is giving on another level. Hannah could not have a child and when a child was given to her by the prophetic words of the Priest and prophet Eli, she made a commitme…

    Why Do I Give?

“And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Now to our God and Father be glory forever and ever. Amen.” Philippians 4v19

We not only honor him through our giving, but we also demonstrate our faith in his ability to provide for us. There is no way we can outgive God. Therefore, we need to gi…

    How Do I Give?

“Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.” 2 Corinthians 9v7

First, we are to bring our gifts into his storehouse, which is the church in the New Testament. We are to give our gifts wherever we regularly worship the Lord—not only t…

    Thanksgiving Offering

“Let him who is taught the word share in all good things with him who teaches. Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.” Galatians 6v6-10

We are taught the word of God by the Pastors and teachers in our local church. The word transforms our life because it is preached by the anointing and power. There is a …
