Having a Clean Heart

Giving is a heart attitude. David knew this hence he asked the Father to give him a clean heart so he would be pleasing to the Father. In everything, David consulted God but in this instance he had just disobeyed a commandment by sleeping with the wife of Uriah. He even had him killed. David repented and wanted God to keep his heart steadfast so that he would never sin against God again. He was willing to give his heart totally to God so God could use him. He never wanted anything to separate him from the love and forgiveness of God our Father.

He was willing to give up anything to enjoy the presence of God and the blessing that came with his obedience. We should try our very best to have a clean heart when dealing with people and the challenges we face. A clean heart is an open door for God to work.
