Give of Yourself

“Then Jesus therefore saw His mother, and the disciple whom He loved standing by, He said to His mother, “Woman, behold your son!” Then He said to the disciple, “Behold your mother!” And from that hour that disciple took her to his own home.”
Jesus looked at John at the cross and immediately said to him that His mother, would now be John’s Mother. No consultation or negotiation. John just accepted the words of Jesus and took Jesus’s mother home. He gave of himself to accept the command of Jesus to take care of his mother. His mother had no argument too, she just followed John home. Wow! I am amazed at the relationship Jesus had with John that he would willingly accept his mum. John was willing and he followed through. He was a giver. I am sure his lifestyle must have been affected but this did not matter to him. All he wanted was to obey the words of Jesus.
Giving is a skill that is developed over time. It becomes something you do without even thinking about it. Become a giver today, not only of your finances but in every area God calls you to.
