Faith Chronicles

A month of daily readings, written by Dr RJ Sing for his church every month from 2007 until his passing in 2024. Pastor Zubeda Sing wrote alongside him, and she continues them today. Each reading has its scripture, the teaching, a confession and the day's Bible reading plan.

In 2021 and 2022 he also wrote daily messages for believers in business and at work — the Marketplace, kept with the rest of his writing on his own site.

The Spirit’s Clear Mandate to Apostle Paul

Pastor Zubeda Sing

“But when God, who had chosen me and set me apart before I was born, and called me through His grace, was pleased to reveal His Son in me so that I might preach Him among the Gentiles [as the good news—the way of salvation], I did not immediately consult with anyone [for guidance regarding God’s call and His revelation to me]. Nor did I [even] go up to Jerusalem to those who were apostles before me; but I went to Arabia and stayed awhile, and afterward returned once more to Damascus” Gal 1 v15-17

Thankful That We Are Free From Fear
“For God did not give us a spirit of timidity or cowardice or fear, but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of sound judgment and personal discipline [abilities that result in a calm, well-balanced mind and self-control].” 2 Timothy 1v7
Our greatest weapon we have is love. When we allow fear in, our greatest weapon is disarmed. We become defenseless. When we lose our joy, we lose our strength. So today d…

Thankful for Authority
“Listen carefully: I have given you authority [that you now possess] to tread on serpents and scorpions, and [the ability to exercise authority] over all the power of the enemy (Satan); and nothing will [in any way] harm you. Nevertheless do not rejoice at this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are recorded in heaven.”” Luke 10v19
Authority is necessary for us to live in dominion in this life. Jesus gave the disciples the authority to have victory in their assignment. Everything they had to encount…

Thankful for the Sword of the Spirit
“And take THE HELMET OF SALVATION, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God.” Ephesians 6v17
The word is quick and powerful, sharper than any two edged sword, dividing between the thoughts and intents of our hearts. The word of God is part of our armour, a necess…

Thankful for the Shield of Faith
“Above all, lift up the [protective] shield of faith with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.” Ephesians 6v16
It is the shield of faith that helps us quench or deflect the darts of the enemy. The shield gives us the edge whereby the attacks and barbs of the enemy is deflected awa…

Thankful for the Armour God Has Given Us
“In conclusion, be strong in the Lord [draw your strength from Him and be empowered through your union with Him] and in the power of His [boundless] might. Put on the full armor of God [for His precepts are like the splendid armor of a heavily-armed soldier], so that you may be able to [successfully] stand up against all the schemes and the strategies and the deceits of the devil.” Ephesians 6v10-11
We are engaged in a war, a battle when we least expect it. God was fully aware of that, hence he equipped us with his armour, the amour of a heavily-armed soldier. When t…

Thankful for Protection
“He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High Will remain secure and rest in the shadow of the Almighty [whose power no enemy can withstand]. I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress, My God, in whom I trust [with great confidence, and on whom I rely]!”” Psalm 91v1-2
We live this life, each and every day under the protection of God. God is our defense and our shield. He has given us his angels to take charge over us. He has given us h…

Fearlessly Fulfilling My Purpose
“But Elymas, the sorcerer (as his name means in Greek), interfered and urged the governor to pay no attention to what Barnabas and Saul said. He was trying to keep the governor from believing. Saul, also known as Paul, was filled with the Holy Spirit, and he looked the sorcerer in the eye. Then he said, “You son of the devil, full of every sort of deceit and fraud, and enemy of all that is good! Will you never stop perverting the true ways of the Lord? Watch now, for the Lord has laid his hand of punishment upon you, and you will be struck blind. You will not see the sunlight for some time.” Instantly mist and darkness came over the man’s eyes, and he began groping around begging for someone to take his hand and lead him. When the governor saw what had happened, he became a believer, for he was astonished at the teaching about the Lord.” Acts 13v8-12
This passage is a follow up on yesterday’s chronicle on honour. Whilst trying to minister to the Governor, the sorcerer Bar-Jesus tried to stop them from ministering to h…

Bearer of Good News
“The light of the eyes rejoices the hearts of others, And good news puts fat on the bones. The ear that listens to and learns from the life-giving rebuke (reprimand, censure) Will remain among the wise.” Proverbs 15v30
The good news of the gospel is to be shared with everyone we meet. We are bearers of good news. We have our feet shod with the good news of the gospel. Those who win soul…

Put on the Armour of God
“As to the rest, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might; put on the whole armour of God, for your being able to stand against the wiles of the devil, because we have not the wrestling with blood and flesh, but with the principalities, with the authorities, with the world-rulers of the darkness of this age, with the spiritual things of the evil in the heavenly places; because of this take ye up the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to resist in the day of the evil, and all things having done--to stand.” Ephesians 6v10-13
In a world of chaos and disorder, the general response is for us to go on the attack or on the defense. God’s word says all we need to do is stand and put on the whole ar…

Divinely Protected
“This I declare about the LORD: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I trust him. For he will rescue you from every trap and protect you from deadly disease. He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with his wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection.” Psalm 91v2-4
I would like to suggest that you ponder this topic. You enjoy divine protection each and every day of your life. There may be many things happening around you but in the …
