Faith Chronicles

A month of daily readings, written by Dr RJ Sing for his church every month from 2007 until his passing in 2024. Pastor Zubeda Sing wrote alongside him, and she continues them today. Each reading has its scripture, the teaching, a confession and the day's Bible reading plan.

In 2021 and 2022 he also wrote daily messages for believers in business and at work — the Marketplace, kept with the rest of his writing on his own site.

The Spirit’s Clear Mandate to Apostle Paul

Pastor Zubeda Sing

“But when God, who had chosen me and set me apart before I was born, and called me through His grace, was pleased to reveal His Son in me so that I might preach Him among the Gentiles [as the good news—the way of salvation], I did not immediately consult with anyone [for guidance regarding God’s call and His revelation to me]. Nor did I [even] go up to Jerusalem to those who were apostles before me; but I went to Arabia and stayed awhile, and afterward returned once more to Damascus” Gal 1 v15-17

Thankful for the Power of God

“But you will receive power and ability when the Holy Spirit comes upon you; and you will be My witnesses [to tell people about Me] both in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and Samaria, and even to the ends of the earth.”” Acts 1v8

Thank you, Lord, for Salvation. Jesus said it was necessary for him to go away so he could send another comforter, the holy Spirit. Jesus knew we could never do this God …

Thankful for the Sword of the Spirit

“And take THE HELMET OF SALVATION, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God.” Ephesians 6v17

The word is quick and powerful, sharper than any two edged sword, dividing between the thoughts and intents of our hearts. The word of God is part of our armour, a necess…

Thankful for the Shield of Faith

“Above all, lift up the [protective] shield of faith with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.” Ephesians 6v16

It is the shield of faith that helps us quench or deflect the darts of the enemy. The shield gives us the edge whereby the attacks and barbs of the enemy is deflected awa…

Thankful for the Armour God Has Given Us

“In conclusion, be strong in the Lord [draw your strength from Him and be empowered through your union with Him] and in the power of His [boundless] might. Put on the full armor of God [for His precepts are like the splendid armor of a heavily-armed soldier], so that you may be able to [successfully] stand up against all the schemes and the strategies and the deceits of the devil.” Ephesians 6v10-11

We are engaged in a war, a battle when we least expect it. God was fully aware of that, hence he equipped us with his armour, the amour of a heavily-armed soldier. When t…

    Honour God with your Faith

“But without faith it is impossible to [walk with God and] please Him, for whoever comes [near] to God must [necessarily] believe that God exists and that He rewards those who [earnestly and diligently] seek Him.” Hebrews 11v6

This statement always amazes me. If I want to come to God in any way, I have to have faith. God has given to every man/woman a measure of Faith. The responsibility to gro…

Honour your Pledge to the House of God

“Then Moses spoke to the leaders of the tribes of the Israelites, saying, “This is the thing which the LORD has commanded: If a man makes a vow to the LORD or swears an oath to bind himself with a pledge [of abstinence], he shall not break (violate, profane) his word; he shall do according to all that proceeds out of his mouth.” Numbers 30v1

A pledge to the house of God is not a promise to your Pastor or the leaders of the church. A pledge or commitment to the house of God to sow your money or time is a promi…

The Word is My Firm Foundation in My Purpose

“Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do. This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.”” Joshua 1v8

God speaking to Joshua had only one instruction that would guarantee his good success, the word of God!

Taking Territory Whilst Pursuing My Purpose

“If you obey, you will enjoy a long life in the land the LORD swore to give to your ancestors and to you, their descendants—a land flowing with milk and honey! For the land you are about to enter and take over is not like the land of Egypt from which you came, where you planted your seed and made irrigation ditches with your foot as in a vegetable garden. Rather, the land you will soon take over is a land of hills and valleys with plenty of rain— a land that the LORD your God cares for. He watches over it through each season of the year!” Deuteronomy 11v9

The above scripture was given to the Israelites as they entered into the land God has given to them. It was a land flowing with milk and honey. A land that was prepared f…

    Pure Thoughts

“Summing it all up, friends, I’d say you’ll do best by filling your minds and meditating on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious—the best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly; things to praise, not things to curse. Put into practice what you learned from me, what you heard and saw and realized. Do that, and God, who makes everything work together, will work you into his most excellent harmonies.” Philippians 4v8-9

A million thoughts enter your mind each and every day. We have the tendency to lean towards the negative because of the various things we face. Let us put on the mind of …

    Spiritual Discernment

“Now while they were on their way, Jesus entered a village [called Bethany], and a woman named Martha welcomed Him into her home. She had a sister named Mary, who seated herself at the Lord’s feet and was continually listening to His teaching. But Martha was very busy and distracted with all of her serving responsibilities; and she approached Him and said, “Lord, is it of no concern to You that my sister has left me to do the serving alone? Tell her to help me and do her part.” Luke 10v38

Martha was the host who invited Jesus in and she was busy with so many things. Mary on the other hand understood who Jesus was, so she decided to take the best seat in th…

    Willful Decision Making

“And it came to pass, when she pressed him daily with her words, and urged him, so that his soul was vexed unto death; That he told her all his heart, and said unto her, There hath not come a razor upon mine head; for I have been a Nazarite unto God from my mother's womb: if I be shaven, then my strength will go from me, and I shall become weak, and be like any other man. And when Delilah saw that he had told her all his heart, she sent and called for the lords of the Philistines, saying, Come up this once, for he hath shewed me all his heart.” Judges 16v16

Samson was anointed with strength and power to overcome every obstacle that would challenge his strength. He was an anointed nazarite and could not cut his hair as the st…
