Decision to Be Silent

Mary the mother of Jesus marvelled as she watched Jesus and the mighty works done by him. She kept all of these wonderful thoughts in her heart as she decided to keep silence about what God would do in his life.

She could have been a very proud mother who spoke of what God would do with her son, but she was a very prudent, quiet woman who loved God passionately so she decided to keep silent about all of these things. She preferred to hide these things in her heart.

I have come to this conclusion as I spend time with the Lord, the language of silence is one of the highest languages in the world. The ability to keep silent even when there are many things in your heart. Not all things need to be spoken out as the timing is not right. So the best decision to make, by the help of the Holy Spirit is to keep silent. The time to speak will come. Study to be quiet. It is a skill that we all need to develop as it really helps us rest in God. it gives us time to reflect and hear from God.
