A Thankful Heart

“And behold, a woman in that town who was a sinner, as soon as she knew that Jesus sat at food in the Pharisee’s house, brought an alabaster jar of ointment. And she stood at his feet behind him, weeping, and began to wash his feet with tears, and wiped them with the hair of her head, and kissed his feet, and anointed them with ointment.”
Mary was the woman who was caught in the act of adultery. Jesus said to her, go and sin no more. Her whole life was changed. Coming into the house of this Pharisee was a costly decision as they were more aware of her past than of her present and future. It did not matter to her. She wanted to give thanks unto the Lord for what he had one for her. It was the will of the father for her to do this as this was the preparation for his burial. She made the decision to show her gratefulness.
Many times it may not make sense when you make a decision to be thankful or show your gratitude to God or just a person who has shown you tremendous kindness. The choice to do this may bring criticism or ridicule. Only you can decide whether you will go ahead and make the decision to fulfill your need to be grateful or thankful. Consider well if you will allow yourself to be bothered by the voice of man or the applaud of God. Go for it!
