An Accurate Tongue

“But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.”
Please be a person who means what they say and say what you mean. Do not allow your words to be ambiguous (unclear, vague, open to conflicting meanings). In all conversations let your words be clear, your Yes is yes and your No, is no. This is vital in your confession of faith. In your believing, you must believe God and His word. He is a man of His word and his promises are yes and amen. Let our words be the same.
When we are in church, we say amen to the things preached, we hear we are healed and we hear we are prosperous and in the conversation of the saints, we agree. However when we are in our homes or with our friends, we say things like, “I am sick”, I can feel the flue coming, I am afraid I will not make it this month, my children are just so bad etc. these words are contrary to the word of God. The word says we are healed, the word says we are prosperous, the bible says if we are saved, our entire family will be saved. These are just some of the things we say that hurt our walk with God, because what we say, is what we get. We never agree with the devil, we agree with the promises of God.
In our work or business life in the market place, we say many things and we become just like the crowd. We over promise and under deliver. We promise to do something and we never deliver because we were caught up in the heat of the moment so we never fulfil the promise made. We are men/woman of the most high, our words count. Our words have authority and power, let us use our words wisely. When asked something and you know there is a possibility you will not be able to fulfil the promise. Rather say, can I get back to you on that. Taking time out to think about something is not a bad thing, it’s better than rushing in to please someone.
A Thriver knows their words matter, so they are slow to speak and quick to listen. The thriver understands that death and life are in the power of the tongue, so this precious cargo is handle with care, like fragile goods. Your words matter.
