The Word Ruled Tongue
Pastor Zubeda Sing · 2 min read

“Heaven and earth [as now known] will pass away, but My words will not pass away.”
In the above scripture, Jesus was saying what the Father said. The father says, heaven and earth will pass away but his word will never pass away. What he was saying was God has said that he will lift up his word above his name. God is a man of his word, if he has said it, than he will do it. He was also reminding us that we need to give heed to his word. The word is an instrument that will tame our tongues consistently as we read and meditate on the word of God. The word is quick and powerful and sharper than any two edged sword. As we meditate on the word of God, our mouth will speak only what the word says. The words will quicken us to speak effectively. Once we give ourselves to the reading and studying of the word, the word will enter our hearts and our mouths will speak out of the abundance of the heart. We become swift to hear and slow to speak, operating in wisdom and knowledge intentionally. It’s a choice, it’s a decision we have to make to go to the Holy Spirit to ask him for help in this area. In this way we develop a “word ruled tongue”.
A thriver has a heart after God so they yield their tongue to the Holy Spirit. They become a disciplined one because of the message of the gospel. They operate in wisdom and are able to lead many to Christ.
