The Language of Unity

At the tower of Babel all the people spoke the same language. So, they were able to communicate effectively. In this incident, their decision to build the tower together did not sit well with God, but what attracted the attention of the Lord was their strong unity and their working in unity. God realised that their unity could be detrimental, hence on this day, he changed the language of every tribe, tongue and nation. They could not communicate effectively from that day onwards.

The point I am making here is, there is power in unity. When we are able to communicate effectively and be in agreement, God will command his blessings. When we speak the language of the word of God and encourage each other, we will bring about unity which will also bring about strength. In Matthew 18v19, the word says, whatsoever two shall agree on this earth, concerning anything, it shall be done by my father in heaven. Try and imagine that for a moment. A family united together and standing as one. There will be nothing that will stop them. There will be peace in the home as each one is in sync with the other. This alone should be motivation to allow the Holy Spirit to train our tongues so we become more effective communicators. The spirit of strife will not be allowed entrance in to our homes or lives if we allow our tongues to be trained effectively.

The thriver sets their heart on being in unity because they understand the amount of damage the spirit of strife can do. They pursue peace at all costs and choose to walk in unity.
