A Murmuring Tongue
Pastor Zubeda Sing · 2 min read

“These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling words, having men’s persons in admiration because of advantage.”
The children of Israel died in the wilderness because they angered God with their murmuring. He had promised them access to the promised land and a journey that should have taken them 11 days took them 40 years, all because they murmured and complained against God. A murmuring mouth and words, is a blessing blocker. It says, God I do not trust you and you are not doing what you said you would do. It might not sound so drastic to you, but in the eyes of God it is. Let us turn the tide and begin our day with thanksgiving.
Family of God, every one of us are dissatisfied and frustrated at some point in our lives. Especially when we have prayed and asked God for something. When too much time goes by and the manifestation of what we have prayed for, does not manifest, we tend to start complaining and murmuring. This displeases God but pleases the devil. It would seem the devil has us, just where he wants us. In this time of dissatisfaction and frustration, put your confession to work, let your wise tongue begin to speak forth in praise. Declare the word of the Lord whenever you remember. As soon as you find your mind wondering and going in the direction that you would start murmuring, immediately set your tongue in motion. Start off by saying thank you Jesus, I am blessed, I am empowered to proser. I am successful, I am walking in victory. Even though you may not be experiencing victory and this may sound like a lie, go ahead and practice your faith talk. Train the tongue in praising, worshipping and declaring. You are setting yourself up for victory and good success, the angels go to work on your behalf. It is only a matter of time before you see success and victory.
A thriver never develops the habit of complaining and murmuring because the Thriver understands that murmuring is a blessing blocker and only floods their heart with unbelief. So the thriver trains their tongue in praise and thanksgiving.
